From a chelsea point of view, they have made the right decision to sack him. Whether the players weren't happy with him in charge or, as Fabio Capello has previously alluded to, he burnt out the first team players and wasn't willing to rotate the squad or introduce youth players into the team, he wasn't going to get the results that were needed. 9 losses out of 16 games with the players he had at his disposal just isn't good enough.

Don't they need to win almost every game to finish in the top four?
They're 14 points off 4th with 22 games left so no unfortunately.
At the rate everyone keeps dropping points and given how tight the league is they could be knocking on the door by the middle of February.
Guess now we'll see if the team is divided or if it was just Maureen.
They've still got problems at the back whatever happens.
You'll know after the next few games if they really have got deep underlying problems or they're gonna be a real threat.
My moneys on the latter.

No, they have to give or take match last seasons form from now (or a week ago, when that nugget was conjured up)

They'll definitely get a new manager bounce as he'd lost the dressing room...
I don't think they'll be much of a bounce as the main problem they had with him was he was a dead man walking, and would be sacked in the summer anyway. Players hate uncertainty.
A temporary appointment will not make them feel any more secure.

Well they did win the CL under a temporary manager, and the EL under another temporary manager.

He didn't use the best team available. He didn't even try to change. Overall he deserved to lose the Chelsea job. Even a manager with his reputation didn't get it right.

You can see that many of the top managers around have been lucky because they have been given a good squad. You see after a while how good sense they have for what is a good team. Mourinho didn't have that this year at all. The team selection is the main reason why he didn't make it this year. Also the fact that he just continued with almost the same team. A player like Baba that they signed for big money didn't play much. If he had played him together with Zouma and Mikel in central defence and Ramires as right back, he would have immediately had a more interesing and promising back four. He didn't even try it. This is what you see from a lot of managers around. They just continue with the same boring team and to be honest - they deserve to lose their jobs when they are not testing more in critical situations. Very bad judgement.

In the short time he was back at Chelsea he made some awful mistakes. Letting Lukaku and De Bruyne go perhaps being the most egregious.

To put things into perspective...Chelsea achieved the most under Mourinho, like we did when we had a manager like Bill Nicholson. Am not comparing man to man. Am just saying what Bill Nic meant to us should be the same for Mourinho to Chelsea. Mourinho is a prick but to treat the guy who made their history this way , sacking twice to me just shows how classless they are.

Not to mention continuing with Costa whilst Remy rotted away on the bench even though he has pretty much the same goal ratio this season. Costa 4 goals in 17, Remy 3 in 13. Mourinho was a stubborn ****.

If Pep goes to United, I see City going for Mourinho. Simeone possibly going to Chelsea.

Pep, Mourinho, Simeone, Klopp - all winners of prestigious titles

Edit : Ofcourse this is assuming Mourinho can work in PL (not in breach of any contract with chelsea)

Yeah but they had Terry, Lampard, Cech, Drogba, Cole etc in their prime then.

I think it will be difficult for their current players to turn their sulks off so quickly or even easily. There is a malaise at the club and I doubt anyone will be able to shift the black cloud. Sunderland is a genuine 6 pointer at this stage for them. Lose and the pressure will be enormous. Even a mad spending spree in Jan may only lift them to them to 10th come April.

What might help the ****s is rehiring the doctor. It will send a message to the players that they were right.

I truly hope they don't and I truly hope they have a relegation battle all season. Hate them and their fans.
