Pretty easy for the new guy then. Sounds like they must have the short term replacement already lined up then.
Possibly announced tonight.

Has Nick Griffin stepped down as well?Whatever you think of Mourinho, Terry has way too much power at that club. He'd make a fine politician.
Redknapp?!?!
1) Gooners
2) Citeh
3) Leicester
4) Chelsea
Mark my words.
They're 14 points off 4th with 22 games left so no unfortunately.Don't they need to win almost every game to finish in the top four?
No, they have to give or take match last seasons form from now (or a week ago, when that nugget was conjured up)Don't they need to win almost every game to finish in the top four?
I don't think they'll be much of a bounce as the main problem they had with him was he was a dead man walking, and would be sacked in the summer anyway. Players hate uncertainty. They'll definitely get a new manager bounce as he'd lost the dressing room...

A temporary appointment will not make them feel any more secure.

Not to mention continuing with Costa whilst Remy rotted away on the bench even though he has pretty much the same goal ratio this season. Costa 4 goals in 17, Remy 3 in 13. Mourinho was a stubborn ****.He didn't use the best team available. He didn't even try to change. Overall he deserved to lose the Chelsea job. Even a manager with his reputation didn't get it right.
You can see that many of the top managers around have been lucky because they have been given a good squad. You see after a while how good sense they have for what is a good team. Mourinho didn't have that this year at all. The team selection is the main reason why he didn't make it this year. Also the fact that he just continued with almost the same team. A player like Baba that they signed for big money didn't play much. If he had played him together with Zouma and Mikel in central defence and Ramires as right back, he would have immediately had a more interesing and promising back four.
Redknapp?!?!
Well they did win the CL under a temporary manager, and the EL under another temporary manager.
