I'm not saying don't buy him for 5 mill, I'm just wondering what his value is now. With 5 months left of contract shouldn't he be cheaper?
probably would be I think its an age thing where Fulham will be due compensation anyway I ain't too sure they'd be due that much though

Has he shagged your Mum or something?

Ffs, the lad is 19 and his game is still developing. By all accounts he is exactly what we are looking for as a back up striker who will not play too often. He is young, ambitious, physically fits the bill and already has got a few games hnder his belt in The Championship. Why on Earth are continually trying to stick the boot in on the lad?

This signing makes sense as we are not man city who can pay 25-30 million to have bums sat on a bench.
This boy will develop and wont mind the pecking order and later we will reap the rewards.

£5m probably is more than we'd pay at tribunal, however the price is probably inflated as the January window usually is, plus we want him now rather than wait till the summer. Look at the Holtby deal, could've been free if we'd waited, but paid a £1.5m fee to bring the deal forward.

For what it's worth, I think he's a fairly astute signing. I think understandably he's a year or so behind Berahino in terms of his development, but then his price reflects that. Peace isn't going to sell to us at £15m quoted, or possibly even £18m. He'll hold out for £20 for a club more liable to want/need to pay it. £5m for a younger player of similar potential is decent business, and gives Pochettino chance to mould him into the player he wants. He has pace and power, and looks to have decent touch and finishing ability, so it's on Poch to fine tune other areas of his game, game sense, technique etc. (Rodriguez claimed Pochettino's tailored training helped him increase his jumping and aerial ability hugely), Not likely to trouble the starting 11 much this year, but could get 20-30 minutes at the end of some games if we're in control, and give Kane a bit of a rest here and there. Described by quite a few, as Kanoute-esque, I'd take that, always rated Kanoute as a very good striker, pace, touch, vision, capable of goals and assists.
£12m for Townsend, £5m out on Dembele, probably a couple of Alli-esque signings with the balance, Lookman and/or Maddison. Steady business there.

i just cant see why we would loan him back when everyone knows we need striker cover, the backlash would be unreal, even levy cant be that blind?

unless something is happening with saido ...

If we are loaning him back its got to be because fulham wont entertain sale without that happening so if thats the case then why not still buy him and loan him back for the rest of the season. If we dont then we risk him going elsewhere especially abroad because he cant sign a pre contract with us until may but if he went abroad he can sign a contract now.

would prefer him now but if this is how it has to be then so be it

If his contract is up why eont we offer him a pre contract now for the summer? Don't see why we would pay now and not get him and just pay the compensation in the summer.

Or am I wrong with his contract situation

Breaking - Moussa Dembélé is not currently undergoing a medical with Tottenham, contrary to reports.
They do seem to be off the pace with this one. They said yesterday negotiations were at 'breaking point' and now he's apparently having a medical. They're probably trying to save themselves but going to the other way and hope it doesn't happen.

Infuriating if we loan hiim back... We clearly need a back-up striker and I was thinking he would be more of a potential stop-gap than potentially our long-term second striker.

So if we get CL football this season, next season he will be our back-up striker? Otherwise seems pretty redundant to wait until Summer to get him in.

Need to calm down people & think.
Yes, we need a striker, but if we are buying Dembele , honestly how many believe he will live up to the expectation ? He will be a failure, because he will not get a run of games & end up not playing. By summer, his confidence could drain out.

If we want a striker to play now, we need a experienced one. Its really not a bad thing to loan him back, if we truly believe in him. Ofcouse, short term for next 6 months , it doesnt suit. But long term, it may benefit the player & club just like it did for Alli.

I believe Poch really means when he says he doesnt want a striker.

How do you get that? To me it says Danny has failed to get them to let him go
We are absolutely desperate for a striker this season. We have to play Kane today ffs. I'd say that says Poch doesn't think he can be a back up this season and has agreed to loan him back. It doesn't help our problem for a striker now
