Why would our deal be off when he's staying there anyway?

Sorry, worded that pretty badly. I just meant it as confirmation that he's definitely staying at Fulham until the summer, as some people still seem to think there's a chance we'll bag him now...hence the delay

Hope the deal was done it the right way so we can deal with them again in the summer because Fulham have 5 players in their u18s that the big boys should be looking at.

If Dembele is being loaned back, perhaps it indicates WBA have been making some positive noises on SB. It might be the case that we were insisting Dembele join us now when we thought we had no chance with SB, that could have changed hence why we are happy to loan back. It certainly doesn't make much sense that we would loan Dembele back when he only has 6 months remaining and we have very little in the striking dept.

I agree its a bit of a risk leaving us with few numbers up top but it looks like thats what we are doing.

Varying reports in the media over this.
Generally they seem to be saying he'll be joining now, and no mention of loan back.
Media reporting it is £5m fee, although some suggesting £1.5/1.7m upfront, the rest in add ons.

I do wonder if the £5m fee is paid over the 3 year (or whatever) contract we are offering Dembele, such that the first payment is £1.5/$1.75m and some media are simply focussed on the initial payment and calling all other pauments 'add ons'

Ah.

Rhodes' move to Middlesborough has been called off - most people seem to think it's linked to a potential development in their McCormack move...

Can't see Fulham selling both Dembele and McCormack - so either our deal is off, or Moussa really is staying for the remainder of the season.

Just heard on 5Live that it might be down to money. They were saying something along the lines that the deal could end up equating to 30m, even maybe more.
Too many clauses and bonuses etc.
Just hearsay though.

Yeah, I agree with this.
Saying that, quite a few of the smaller clubs seem to think we're good to deal with, it's the bigger clubs that find us hard.
That's because they're normally trying to squeeze more money out of us, or trying to steal our best players. I quote like the way Levy conducts his business. Granted, he's made mistakes but on the whole, he does well for us.

Wonder if this is linked to the Rhodes' deal collapsing. Maybe 'Boro want McCormack and unwilling to let Dembele go

We were effectively paying a premium and getting little out of it. Not like Dele Alli deal where he had a contract.

I think the club are obviously confident Dembele will sign for us in june. If we were actually basing our faith a 19 yr old solely from Feb to May, there is something very wrong in our transfer polcy and I dont believe that is the case.
