Tottenham Hotspur's potential deal for Fulham's Moussa Dembélé is not totally dead in the water - the situation http://bit.ly/DDay2016

Moussa Dembélé - Talks between Fulham & Tottenham due to continue tomorrow

Get French Football News can reveal that contrary to reports, a deal between Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of French striker Moussa Dembélé has not totally fallen apart.

It is our understanding that the two clubs will continue to negotiate a potential deal tomorrow.

The reason why there is no current agreement is because Tottenham Hotspur do not want to loan the player back to Fulham until the end of the season, instead they want the player to join them permanently and immediately to act as cover for Harry Kane.

Fulham, up until now, refuse to do any deal unless they can have the player for the rest of the season.

However, Tottenham have not given up and will negotiate with Fulham right up until the deadline for this transfer.

One to watch with us in the forthcoming hours for certain.

Makes me laugh how all sensible logic and common sense goes out of the window during transfer windows just because people love the thrill of a new signing. Ive seen some jokers say we should have given them Coulthirst or even Shayon Harrison lol. I can honestly say i'll never fall into the same trap of spouting such nonsense.

In my opinion, if they need cover to do the deal we should give them Harry Kane for the remainder of the season.

I understand Fulham's position, but I don't understand if we pull out of the deal just because they want to loan him back. We should sign him anyway and loan him back if that is the only option they agree on. We can also sign another player during this window, because the Dembele deal is quite cheap (a good investment).
My own opinion I do not think it is as simple as that with some form of injury risk and ramifications. Insurance etc. I do not know just guessing and could be very wrong.

Great we have two stories to keep out attention up to the last minute! Gotta love transfer deadline days. Though all would be better if we just made the window one day, they really don't need to bother with the rest of it

Reports suggesting Pritchard will head to WBA instead of Burnley now.

Does this mean the Berahino deal is on? Would we really consider loaning them players if their chairman is still playing silly buggers?

Will we still need Dembele if that happens or would we rather wait til summer?

After 30 days of this excruciatingly slow window, finally some intrigue. Or not

Give them one of Winks and Oduwa on loan and if they're still struggling send them another U21 kid on loan too. Winks or Oduwa would start, which Dembele isn't exactly doing frequently at the moment.

Dembele has played every game this season except one

Averaging 74 minutes per appearance in the Championship this season; didn't feature in the squad for two games in December, so there's something awry in the dressing room given he is their best striker.

Levy, seemingly unlike Pearce, is a proper good business man. He wouldn't let a good deal for Tottenham go out the window because of a personal agenda. Getting Pritchard, who's been out for half a season, a Premier League loan would be a good deal for Tottenham. Levy is not going to weaken Tottenham's positioning just because he thinks their chairman is a twat.

Nothing has changed, they still want to get a body in first. They have been struggling to do so which is why they want the loan back. Think this will happen either way but may be a late one. Everything financial and medical is already in place so it can happen quick

how can they get a body in when they are under a transfer embargo? that's why they are adamant of having him loaned back until the end of the season. they aren't even allowed to pay a loan fee for a player, should they want to loan someone else in.

SMC I asked the question as to whether Harrision was up to the required standard to be worth loaning him, it's not the same as suggesting he should go on loan. Seems like the statement in bold was nonsense then!

Should be non deadline day - Ross McCormack and Moussa Dembele both staying put at Fulham who have no desire to sell. #bbcfootball #FFC #MFC
