Nothing has changed, they still want to get a body in first. They have been struggling to do so which is why they want the loan back. Think this will happen either way but may be a late one. Everything financial and medical is already in place so it can happen quick
Thanks Trix - a bit of sanity at last. We are going to need it by the bucket-load tomorrow.

Without having your connects is exactly how I read it, and said as much earlier. Thanks Trix for sharing.

If we don't get this jump start, United or Juve will offer much bigger wages in the summer.
then fuck him, he'd rot at juve, monaco is below the level he wants to play at and hed be stupid if he wants to join united over us atm. he's just a punt, and if we have to pay more for him we should be getting him in now. Anyways there are better options out there like embolo, batshuayi and lacazette.

Lets be honest its been an absolutely shite window for sky and it's transfer circus so they have got to drum up an audience to satisfy their advertisers who are going to cut what they'll pay next time or walk away altogether.
Not about information or the truth it is all about show business, we have had three.different final outcomes from sky today already.

Regarding this loan back & ITK from someone earlier about Poch & Mitchell happy to not pay over the odds for targets would it not make sense if you could not get your main targets, to use this window to get a deal done for the summer window now

Agreed

You only have to look at the adverts for deadline day to see how it's all about Show business.

How likely is it that either of those 3 players are joining Spurs? Lacazetter is already way out of Spurs' price range anyway.

Maybe for the first window ever I'm fairly relaxed about it shutting. If we sign Dembele now - fine. Wait till the summer - fine. Sign no-one, also fine.

we'll have the money next year with cl and tv money, would like to see us go big, and if lacazette is unhappy in lyon i'd love to get him, unrealistic of course but you never know

Juve can sign him on a pre-contract now, so, if they were genuinely interested, why would they wait until summer, when there will be more PL clubs interested, pushing up the signing fee and wages?

Can still see this happening.
Probably just some posturing from Fulham, trying to chance their arm, but I can't see it happening.
We have nothing to lose here. We want a striker now, hence we'll pay above what a tribunal would likely set, to bring him in early. Buying now and loaning back, we may as well wait till the summer and pay less. Other than maybe piece of mind that he's secured, there's nothing in it for us to buy now and loan back. Fulham on the other hand, can get a larger fee now, or risk a tribunal fee in the summer. They have more to lose if we walk away.

I don't think this is any change of stance on our part due to other options elsewhere becoming gettable (Berahino). I think this story will swing back and forth till tomorrow evening, then get done.

Absolutely terrible transfer window. Our scouts really need to step up their game.

Whilst I'm fairly relaxed about the state of our squad, based on Pochettino's outwardly positive demeanour on the subject, this bit does concern me a little. In the summer, it was Berahino or nothing, and now in January, whilst be do have Berahino and Dembele this time as preferred options, we surely still should be better placed, either with more options to choose from, or at least be searching in advance for actually attainable targets. The scouts have had months to look into this, and there are so many players out there, are we really that picky that only two players in world football fit the bill? And neither of whom are straightforward enough to sign without going this deep into the window...!

Which is exactly what they have done - no more Sahas or Nelsons in the winter window; no more stop gap emergency players. So, apart from an out and out CF, where exactly is the need for Spurs to strenghten their squad (within within their budget)?
It is well known that it is hard to get quality players in the winter wondow - not just for Spurs but for any team.
Personally I have been very relaxed about this window and won't get disappointed at all if Spurs won't buy any players.
