HARRY'S ORDERED TO CHOP
Harry Redknapp has been told to clear the dead wood out of Tottenham before he can consider a summer spending spree.
The restrictions placed on manager Redknapp by the club's board are leading to tension as he looks to recruit about £30million worth of talent to compete for a top six finish next season.
Redknapp fears he could miss out on key targets unless Spurs provide him with funds to compete for players before off-loading some of his players.
But chairman Daniel Levy claims the club have heavily overspent in the transfer market as they battled to beat the drop last season and insists any new signings must be financed by sales.
Redknapp is paying the price for his predecessor Juande Ramos's disastrous recruitment campaign.

The mess Redknapp inherited in October prompted him to spend almost £50m to safeguard the club's top-flight future.
Now he has targeted Kenwyne Jones, Glen Johnson, Peter Crouch, Ashley Young and Stewart Downing.
Redknapp would consider selling Darren Bent, David Bentley, Tom Huddlestone, Heurelho Gomes, Gareth Bale, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Jermaine Jenas, Giovani Dos Santos and Vedran Corluka.
Manchester City's decision to allow Joe Hart out on loan could help Spurs recruit a new keeper for little outlay
