1. Does this needs its own thread.
2. It's been answered a billion times on here already. In the last month.
3. No.

It does if the guy hasn't read through numerous threads on here in the last few weeks.
Unfortunately not everyone has as much spare time as you apparently

Enough spare time to post repeatedly corrected fallacies, though.

It isn't difficult to google it. Or do a search on this sites search engine.

It doesn't matter. If we get top 4 the world will probably end anyway so it's irrelevant.

True but this is a football forum for discussing football matters.
I didn't know or heard on here the answer to the OP question (mainly because Liverpool or United winning el never crossed my mind) so I think the harsh response to his question was a bit unfair

And we finish 4th , would we lose out again .

Essentially UEFA have said that the Premier League would be allowed a maximum of 5 teams to take part in next season's CL.

If a non-top 4 team wins the EL, they would join the top 4 in the CL.

If a non-top 4 team wins the CL (i.e, Chelsea or City), they would join the top 4 in the CL.

If both the EL and CL are won by teams not finishing in the top 4, they would join the top 3 in the CL (with the 4th placed team dropping to the EL).

Isn't it 2 yellows = a red
Not 2 yellows = 2 yellows and a red?

Before the match Dier was already on 8 Yellows, so he was 2 cards away from an automatic 2 games suspension for the accumulation of 10 cards in a season. Hence in theory, had he been issued a second yellow, that would have triggered the automatic 2 games suspension. Additionally, he would also get an automatic 1 match suspension for the Red card as well.

The yellows would have been carried over I thought. So he would have gone back to 8 yellows and had a 1 match ban for the red.

I don't think it would. If he picked up a second yellow that gets turned in to a red.
The yellows would not be counted so would still be on 8

The Red card for the 2 Yellow cards in the same match, is a consequence of the player having committed 2 offences which warranted a booking/caution in a match. That carries with it an automatic 1 match suspension.
This notwithstanding, does not negate the fact that, that player has in fact been Yellow carded 10 times in the same season, which triggers another automatic 2 match suspension.

I understand what you're saying, I just don't believe it's correct. As @chrissivad has said, it would go back to 8 yellows and he'd only get a 1 match ban because it's his first red of the season.

Not that it's relevant as he didn't get sent off...
