I've just heard there's a press conference out here in the UAE on 16th July, to be attended by their 5 big name signings, two of which are yet to be made public.

Source - I work for a UAE media company owned by the Man City chairman..

How the fuck can they still sign all these players and keep Hughes as manager. What a joke!

Money money money moooooney!!!

To be fair, they haven't signed too many really high profile players, certainly no higher than Jol pulled off when he was a kind of nobody when he arrived.

Tevez will definately be one, how he will fit in the side with de Jong, Barry, Ireland, SWP, Robinho, RSC and Bellamy I don't know. Tevez like Robihno is a mercenary, could be playing for a CL side but rather big wages.

Either for Tevez or Eto'o, but can't see it being both. Unless they are going to sell Robiniho. The other has to be in a different position but fuck knows where. Alonso maybe?

What CL would have gone in for him?

I'm sure if one had he'd have been sounded out. For Tevez this is a World Cup year and he needs to play, he wanted to stay in the Premier League and this is a good move for him in a bright, up and coming side.

That said, surely Tevez & Owen can't sign for another club until their contracts finish?

Sorry I just read 16th July!!

Chelsea are definately in for him, confirmed by Joorabchian. So if he did go there and finally became a proper club player rather than this 3rd party ownership bollocks i wouldn't have a problem with him. Work rate covers up his ability as well.

I'd rather see Tevez go to Chelsea than Man City. Like Kendall said, they haven't signed any really high profile players yet. RSC isn't all that great, and Barry is very good but not world class. Hopefully they keep signing players on that level. If they get Tevez then i can see them lining up like...

Given
Richards....New CB....Onouha....Bridge
Ireland....Barry
SWP....Tevez....Robinho
RSC

That would be a a quality side, especially the midfield and attack. They still need some work in defence though.

They paid something like £18mill for de Jong, he is their Mascherano so i think he is a definate starter. You wonder how much thought has gone into these buys as players like SWP, Bellamy and Ireland would not be happy on the bench

I can see either Toure or Lescott going there, Toure has not improved over the past two seasons at Woolwich and i'm sure Wenger would welcome the cash. Think he see's Gallas and Vermaelen as the CB pairing.

I could see Lescott as a real possibility. Everton could take a decent sized bid, get a cheap replacement and spend the rest on someone else. Moyes would love a bit of money to play about with.

with these signings i feel very sorry for stephen ireland. If his name was stephano irelandinho he would be a guaranteed starter but he is a bald lil irish bloke. The owners wont se ehim as a glamorous player for man city.
