Isn't this meant to be a loan deal. presumably as his salary is too high for a normal transfer?
He has 2 years left on his contract, so I imagine he'd be back after a year.

Which is perfect in a way, as poch will also be back by then, and he absolutely loves him.
Absolutely. Sissoko starting to slow down a bit and relying on his football intelligence is just what any team needs.

He has had some very good games for us even when he was missing one on ones (real Madrid) but last season he was terrible and looked disinterested.
Going to be very interesting to see what we can actually get for him.

If we can get £10m+ for him we've played a blinder. He should barely be worth £5m to any club that knows their onions.

He's 32 in August and once he loses his pace/power he's League 2 standard. Just gotta push the "proven French international with 2 years on contract" angle and pray someone bites.

I'm happy to volunteer to drive him to the airport to make sure he gets his flight. I'm all jabbed up so shouldn't be a problem...

If it's a sale and not a loan then Levy will ask for his money back I believe we paid 30Mil. At 31 and these difficult times it's unlikely to happen so he'll probably be back for the start of the season. This is probably true of a number of players they would like to move on. Regardless of employing a DOF the final financial say is always going to be with Levy and he will always want to pay a lot less for incoming players and miss out and more than they are worth for outgoing players and get stuck with.

As limited as he is, his work rate is second to none. He never stops and does most of what he's asked to adequetly. For some reason he gets called up for the world champions so not so much of a donkey as some think. Stil, it is time to move on and if Napoli have asked, he'd be mad not to jump.

He won't. 5-10 million should do it.

Will be really interesting to see if he starts for France this evening and how he is utilised.
And then obviously what sort of performance he puts in.

It's the right price I know but this is Levy they are dealing with and I don't think he would answer the phone for 5 mil.
I think clubs like us will be looking to lower our operating costs. Saving £80k a week on his salary will be a big help.

We have to hope the likes of Sabitzer will be looking at a lower salary than that.

But I doubt the trouble selling Sissoko will be Levy's asking price.

I agree, we must trust the club to learn from the past. Players can either be sold at a reasonable fee or leave on a free after taking a year out of the first team while picking up a first team wage (Danny Rose…). Got to know when to let go, something is better than nothing

It’s helpful if he wants to go, more of an issue with deadwood we can’t shift!

Enough of a warning for people to pick their next scapegoat.

So far away from having the talent, but so far above players who have had better talent and no application. Still a better signing that the likes of Janssen, who came, was shite, blamed everyone but his own fat arse, left in a hump.

I expected a real problem player when I saw this:

But of course, we ended up with a pretty decent bloke:

He's played 69 times for France in the current era...it's mental

And is still being selected for a very talented squad ahead of others such as Ndombele.

This could work against us though as Levy will be using the same rhetoric when determining his desired fee.....

This could come full circle. He didn’t really perform brilliantly at Newcastle. He has a great Euro2016, which made Levy overpay and Mike Ashley was only too happy to sell having seen him disappoint week in/week out.

5 years of Spurs’ fans disappointment of his lack of talent later, it’s the Euros again and potential buyers are circling

Doesn't work that way. From my understanding, the contact value depreciates per year. Sissoko's not worth 30m to spurs, he is worth the depreciated value of his remaining contract. Whatever that is. Age and last seasons performances. Plus the freed up salary costs of letting him go early.

Nowt now. Just finished the 5 year of his original contract (was reported to be amortised at £6m/year for 5 years), so I believe anything we get is a profit on the books.

I'd expect around £6m to 8m or so, based on all factors ?‍♂️
