Shame we'll only wear this one once or twice, as it clashes with many team's home shirts. Similarly to our away kit this season.

The Purple third strip isnt gonna help things either.

Unfortunately no, the third kit will be purple.

That's going to make watching Newcastle away murder on the eyeballs again, always clash with them no matter what the colour (other than baby blue which thank doG has hopefully been removed from the colour palette)

I hate watching stripes on TV especially a few seasons back when they all seemed to have same kit supplier so say it was Southampton vs Newcastle both wearing striped home kits as soon as players moved their arms the colour was white on both kits, why the hell they couldn't have made the stripe that ran down the sides the coloured one rather than white is beyond me :banghead::bag:

Why can't we just manage to launch our kits early like some clubs and afford leaked shirts? I get that this season it's down to us having to wait for the UA contract to end but under UA we always seemed to be the last club launching our kits. I hope this situation changes next season. Under UA a kit would always end up on sale in a store somewhere into the world before launch and the trend seems to be continuing with Nike.

It's quite simple, it's partly down to the rights to use a certain team or players image. So this season for example Under Armour quite reasonably would want to keep using images of say Spurs or Harry Kane after the season has finished and he's just become the first player to retain the Golden Boot for bloody ages, to help them sell more product or get bigger and better deals (for them) by outfitting other clubs, they retain the rights to use images/footage of Spurs until whatever date and time contract ends.

It's part of the reason they part with their money in the first place in anticipation of trying to maximise ROI

Image rights for a lot of athletes/personnel/team in any sport are usually brokered for a certain date rather than per season unless someone is prepared to pay any break clause that's been agreed in advance.

The other thing of course with leaving it later is to try and increase exposure to your brand/team etc otherwise it'd get lost in the noise of everyone else announcing theirs.

I like the kit but I don't like the badge in that thing. What's the problem with just putting a cockerel on the shirt?
