Hopefully spurs have seen the response to the (rumoured) third kit and told nike to go back to drawing board and produce a yellow third kit. My opinion on it all is that we wont see the new kit until the club shop at WHL opens which will be around July.

The mock ups with shields on Footyheadlines are inaccurate there is a better picture of the mock ups that I have included below. This was released before any of the nike shirts dropped and all are correct except for our shirt as we haven't released ours yet.

The Man City one isn’t quite right, don’t they have a button collar?

It's the designs that are going to be spot on from that picture, but there may be small differences. Galatasaray's doesn't have all that's shown from it either and our collar may be slightly different for all we know.

Roma have had their away and third leak and the 3rd kits normally all follow the same sort of pattern so it looks like we might have teal shorts and socks with maybe some navy or silver fade with it too.

Yeah I read (not sure where but probably footyheadlines) that they are incorporating something symbolic of each city shadowed in on the 3rd kits.

Yeah, will be interesting to see what ours is. For all criticism of Nike and their generic templates they use for everyone, they're done a pretty nice job in making a some of these home shirts (and seemingly third too) unique with the different patterns.

I just don't understand the bottom part of ours. Why can't it just be like the Roma one but with our colours?

You've seen a render.
It may be exactly that design, but you haven't seen a shirt, or a full kit. It's a cgi render and they have a habit of looking different to real life.

I’ll tell you what I’ve seen...

This.

And this.

Which are exactly the same as the shots of all the other Nike kits, which have been released and proven to be exactly correct.

So while I haven’t touched it. It’s fair to say I know what it looks like

Almost all those kits are lovely, especially the atletico one, Barca and inter are really good as well.

Ours isn't though, I like the top half but fade always looks bit crap. I mean it works on the Inter shirt because its subtle. It will be fine because the shorts will be blue so it wont stick out.

I have to say though, this world cup and the new kits coming out are of exceptionally high quality. In the past deigns were very lazy putting random stripes, lines or colours without thinking about composition. I like creativity and I like keeping things classic, what I hate is when things are added to the kit for sake of having them. Also yellow on the home shirt is almost always horrible, 4 colours on a kit is too many.

Since AIA don't insist on red for the away kits, why can't we have it in navy on the home kit?

Someone start a twitter shitstorm to get Holsten back, please.

Because why would they put it in Navy, on the away kits white stands out better than red thats why they do it. On the home kits because they are white, essentially the neutral colour they can put their logo in their preferred colour.

AIA are not here to make our kits look better, They can put it in red so they do. I actually don't mind the AIA being in red, at least the type font is pretty classy unlike a lot sponsorships we've had in the past.

We do tend to have an all white combo for Europe and we used to have investec as our sponsor for cup games a few years back. But very much doubt we will get two shirts as the cost to stock so many shirts wouldn't be worth it also the club may make a loss if they order too many.

Agree.

Athough Man Utd had a completely different Champions league home shirt in 1999

First sight it didn't look at all right but I really like that PSG shirt. Sometimes that crazy out there bit of styling produces a classic shirt.

My first Spurs kit

Considering Adidas have gone for the 94' look with all of their WC kits, I wouldn't have been surprised to see something modelled on this had they been our kit makers.

I really like the Portugal away shirt, it'd have been great had ours have copied that.

Brand guidelines.

All logos are created with a bunch of guidelines on how the logo has to be used, fom colours to the clearence/space around it.

White logos aside, brands will stipulate that it has to be used in its primary colour when used against white or certain other light colours (light grey for example). When used on secondary/darker colours, logos are normall inversed or used in another of the brands colours.

Legibility of red on navy will be poor, so in that instance it’s used in white, but that freedom is not extended to their logo being allowed to appear in any colour outside of the brand palette.

Chelsea’s kit is awful, looks like a pair of pyjamas I had when I was six! The PSG one I think is pretty dam good tho, I said before that if they’d have done that for our kit with blue down the middle, that’d look ace.

Also though, I think when you see our kit - the full kit, our shirt will actually look pretty cool, hopefully it’ll have blue socks tho.. Problem with it is when we use white shorts.

Agree. Would love to see this mocked up

It's smart, but it just looks like part of the training ground range. White shirts seem hardest to work with.

I know this flies in the face on the purists, who would love us to just have a white shirt with some logos each year, but I quite like the match day kits to have a small element of character.

Small element is the key. I love the classic looking kits, personally I find last seasons kit to be one of the best I've seen but diversity can be really nice, as long as its done well. Normally it isn't.

We've had some terrible kits in the recent past. However I loved 2010-2011 kit as well as the 2013-2014. On the other hand 2014-2015, 2009-2010 are really bad were not only were they trying to do way too much but its almost as if there was no overarching idea of what they were trying to do with little coherence to the deign. I personally think one year classic kit, one year creative deign is the way to do it. The time matters thats why the 2016-2017 deign really annoyed me, as much as kits can, because the design was bellow average rather than terrible, but as the last season at White Hart Lane it was really time to go for a kit which really represented the history of the club.

The new kit in't terrible, its not great either its a bit like the stripe kit we had, its feature is not particularly creative or cleaver and aesthetically it doesn't convince but it is at least coherent as an idea and both seem to have redeeming factors, the stripe kit had a neat collar design while the mock up of the new one has the very interesting textured patterns.

All we know of the third kit is the colors involved. And they look like the same colors used on the 13/14 away kit which was very nice. We have not seen anything else on the third shirt.
