i'd love to stay at WHL with 15'000 exta seats.

congestion?? we still fill the ground by kickoff so i don't care. A long journey home after a good result is fun. .. and if it's a poor result then a short jorney is shit anyway. my piont being getting home quicker of not makes no differnece to me.. it's the result that ruins my day.. or makes it. AND one of the few positives i got from our 3-1 mugging at home last year by newcastle was the thought of the geordies stuggling to get home at a decent hour.

I babble. i care not.

chimbonda is a diddy:rofl:

If Spurs do finally build/expand the stadium, it is highly likely that the name will be changed. How many newly built stadiums have retained their name? The majority sell the name of the stadium to raise money, I don't like it but it will happen.

Cant see how traffic can pose a problem the goons built a new stadium and the traffic round there is as bad if not worse than the lane.

I was told as well that they or any other club will never be allowed to build a stadium over 60k as Ken Livingstone dont think that London could cope with the amount of people.

58-59,000 will be good enough if 60,000 is not approved.

You not have to use the new name though. If Arsenal fans had bothered to keep calling theirs Cashburden Grave or the New Library then it would have stuck like Upton Park or St Marys (as opposed to Bolyen Ground or The Friends Provident Stadium) did.

This traffic congestion line is really pissing me off in terms of people using it as a reason for us to leave our home. Can someone tell me which stadium they've been to with 60,000 plus people and they found it easy to get away?

Fairly recently, I've been to old trafford, the millenium, the shite stadium down the road, wembley and camp nou and not one of them was easy to get away from.

When you go to a football match with alot of other people and 60,000 plus is alot accept that you can't get away quickly or don't fucking go. Or be a knob and leave early.

Rant over, would be happy with a renovation or a move next door, if we leave the area I might go ballistic.

Totally agree with what you said. Recently I had a look round Ar5ena1's new stadium, thought it to be impressive but then thought, how on Earth do they get 60,000 out of here in a half decent time? The location of that stadium is far worse than that of WHL yet people always complain. Last time I went WHL, it was piss easy! From the stadium exit onto a train at WHL station it took 15 minutes, at max!

I honestly think some people have their reasons for what they sau but I really think that WHL would be able to cope with 50,000.

Cheers ginola, I agree it is a piece of piss getting to the lane, well it's easy for me and that is all that matters.!!!

If people really are finding it too much to bear, which I doubt, turn up earlier or after the game have a pint or two.

But as I said it's just physically impossible to leave somewhere with that many people at the same time and there not to be congestion, and know that I think about it, I quite like the fact that we're all packed like sardines coming out of the ground singing various polite songs at the scummers etc. Or who would have wanted to leave Wembley quickly and missed the Spurs supporters walking slowly through Wembley way singing to are hearts content. pah congestion.

60,000!

50,000 would become out of date in 5 years probably! We have the fanbase, and the backing to create a 60,000 seater SQUARED fortress!

Personally I'd be quite happy if we could stay at the Lane and simply build a tier or two on top and gradually expand that way - but hey I'm no architect so what do I know?

and I basically agree with N10 re the congestion - what's new -

I went to Old Trafford - it was a nightmare getting away from there by public transport - I went to the Millennium - ditto - it was laways a nightmare at Wembley and it seems little has changed

get to the Lane early - have a drink or two - then after the game do the same or take a walk to avoid the worst of the jams -

if you're in a car - well ditto - just don't drink alcohol

okay - maybe for some people - such advice isn't possible - maybe cos of work commitmets - maybe it's too dangerous for them to walk if they're on their own/ vulnerable -

I have sympathy for such people -

but wherever we go - I suggest there will be problems/dangers for some group or other

PS - NO GROUND SHARE!!!!

would like it if we could stay at White HartLane, keep the history going there, but if there is no chance of that happening i would hope we dont move too far away!

Do the maths people!

20,000 odd season ticket holders atm right?

25,000+ on the waiting list....

So guarenteed atleast 45000+ already with season ticket holders alone. that means, 15, 000 more for general and member sales i.e. 60,000 ish!

Hi DC, how are you old boy, I've forgotten why your so against ground share, personally I'd prefer as you to build bit by bit at the lane or a new stadium just behind the current holy temple, but if the club thought a groundshare was best with the current ground being rebuilt I could live with that, but not for long. !!!!

Hi si :) hey that rhymes :) there's a lot of disputes re the 'real waiting list'

plus we had a lot of empty seats on quite a few Cup nights this year

so while I'll be delighted if we build a brand new stadium in the most people-friendly venue possible - the Board has to do the maths right or else the club suffers - and suddenly the waiting list evaporates as we tumble down table

so make it 55k seater, as not everyone will attend every game, it wil lthen still make there a small demand for tickets! but have it so if we do get alot more fans still trying to attend we ca increase the sadium easly enough

if you cater for the top end of the range you are looking at, then you lose demand for the tickets, which would then make ticket prices drop alot wich would then give less cash to the club, though lower prices are good, you still want there to be a demand for what you are trying to sell

I'm fine N10 - how's you

there are many reasons why I'm against a temporary groundshare (I'd have happily done a permanent one with Arsenal if/when the chance was there)

first off what are the feasible options - none in my view - but it looks like Upton Park - to me that's a recipe for trouble

plus my big fear is what happens if our ground build overruns and the temporary contract runs out - we're homeless and out of the league

also what big club has ever done the ground share route - none - there have got to be good reasons why

what happened to Wimbledon? disaster

what nearly happened to Charlton - disaster

Now I must admit as I've said before on here, I'm one of life's worriers - so if businessmen like Levy who are far cleverer and realistic than me say yea to it - then fine - but I'll be worried all the way I can tell you :)

Arsenal shared WHL for a Season!? that was ok

Come on COYS :) - that was in the war - they had to - it was a different world entirely

incidentally if we were to groundshare - I would prefer Arsenal to anyone else - but while I'd trust them more not to stitch us up than I would West Ham - I still wouldn't totally trust them -
also as we've discussed before it's highly unlikely the local council/residents would allow a groundshare there
