When your project plan has a hundred different activities happening simultaneously and some very complicated dependencies, it must be very difficult to judge exactly how behind you are.

The important tasks are those on the critical path i.e. the sequence of tasks which define the shortest completion period for the project. Only a delay to a critical path task delays the project. There will be a lot of activities that can slip without delaying the overall date as other key activities will not be dependent on them. The program will be written into a software package which will work out the critical path and if the current status of all activities will impact the overall completion date.

I think I'm saying that if they wanted to build that core then all other practical issues aside, it would fit between the column and the east stand. Just.

Another picture borrowed from SSC seems to show the outline of this final core - it looks to fit:

I did the new stadium SPVRS presentations on Friday. It looks awesome by the way. Left me wondering if I could somehow afford to do the premium seating at one of the lower levels. I had no intention of doing so but some of the bits I was subsequently told has made it seem attractive.

The reason I'm posting is more to do with season tickets though. Some of it is very annoying.

Season ticket holders will be told in the summer about the season tickets for the new stadium

Choice of where to sit and who gets first choice hasn't been decided yet. We won't be able to pick actual seats. I was left wondering afterwards if we'd even be able to chose a block.

I asked about wanting to organise to sit with other friends who are season ticket holders and was told that this won't be possible.

Season tickets will definitely go up in price but how much hasn't been decided.

There is very little in the public domain about the construction programe but these images supposingly taken in a site office were posted some time ago and show the build status at various dates.

XS1j0aP.jpg

The first image says 9th January 2017 which is 2 months away and looking at the current status the build should not be that far off.

Summary by Devonshirespur on SSC:

Just looking at the 9th January 2017 image, the north stand is shown built to level 5. We're currently forming level 4 which once complete will allow for the 2nd tier to be constructed. The image shows it built up one level above the 2nd tier.

That level 5 is shown built around NW corner to about the position of Core 2. Currently built to level 3 there so 2 more levels to be completed in the next 2 months, the west stand is currently having level 3 formed, so this and level 4 to be completed

On the east stand, the image shows level 3 built out which is work that is currently happening, but it also appears to show level 1 being built into the SE corner, which will require us to build that core and the basement in that part first....so a lot of work to do in the SE corner.

The NE corner is shown built to level 3. Currently building those bespoke rakers before level 3 can be completed, then another storey above....do people think those bespoke rakes will go in at every level in the corners? They seem pretty slow to get done.

for the SPS terracing, all of the north stand 1 and 2 tier shown in, and half the lower tier west stand and NW corner, and the same for east and NE corner.

To me it looks like Aldi & Verts cranes will prevent the lower part of the North stand being built out and fitted with terracing.

Other than the SE corner where a lot of progress needs to happen, everything else looks pretty doable in the next couple months to that image date.

I always wondered why we didn't have white seats. cant understand why we are buying new seats now when they will be ripped out in a few months.
Because white plastic turns yellow with age, and we don't want a piss yellow stadium do we?

White plastic doesnt tend to yellow with age, certain plastic do which happens due to an oxidation and an issue with the mixture used to make that plastic but not all plastic turns yellow. Over time some plastics may yellow due to UV exposure but they probably will need replacing for being too old and wont turn yellow if properly maintained.

A lot of stadiums do have white seats like cricket grounds and etc.

Even we have white seats with the lettering for THFC

White seats would be a disaster for any matches where we wouldn't be expecting a full crowd. Navy would mask empty seats. Look at how obvious it is at stadiums with light seats when all seats aren't full. Even Arsenal having red seats makes it easier to pick out seats that go unfilled.

White seats for THFC and a cockerel and then everything else should be Navy.

I just got an email from the club inviting me to register interest in these premium seats, and go to the SPVRS presentation.

Not sure it's for me, but I'm interested enough to go along.

America retreats into an isolationist bubble. Good time to build an NFL stadium on the off-chance someone might want to use it.
