Royal blue is chelsea's colour. We are navy blue or white.
I'd often thought the choice of seat colour was a bit weird in the old stadium. But when empty, royal blue does look a lot brighter and upbeat than how it would look if they were all navy. Marketing is really important and pictures of the new stadium with 61,000 dark seats might not look great. I know it doesn't really matter but when you're spending £800m you might as well make sure the seat colours are right. I think if they were sections of navy alongside sections of white the whole way around the stadium it would look great.

Tottenham Hotspur Signs $897 Million Deal for New Stadium

The deal paves the way for Tottenham to complete its move to the new stadium, the second-most expensive in the U.K. after Wembley, the national soccer arena. The club plans to compete at the new venue in the season after next, with home matches played at Wembley in the interim. The stadium is being built on the site of White Hart Lane in north London, where Spurs played home matches for more than a century.

If empty, royal blue will only exaggerate low attendance if we have matches that aren't sold out. A navy blue would mask empty seats.

The renders look great with navy. Hopefully it looks just as good in reality. Think it might have been more about fading and what colours were available.

So if I'm understanding this correctly we have already paid roughly £340 million ourselves to get the project to this point and now we have taken out a further loan of £400m to finish the build?

From the official site:

"The remaining costs of the project will be funded from the Facility and the Club. In addition, the ENIC Group will also commit to a £50m letter of credit facility to support the stadium financing and ensure the project is fully funded through the course of its build."

Does this mean that we don't need the naming rights partner to pay off the cost of building the stadium. We can just use that to buy players with instead and pay off the loans separately?

We'll use it to pay off any short term high interest loans.

As they said the building budget and transfer budget are seperate.
