I have already quoted this in this thread some months back....will say it again...

I am totally expecting cornerstone partnership model for stadium. In 2008, when the global financial crisis happened, sponsors got scared to invest heavily for years in naming rights. So, new NFL stadiums came up with a 'cornershtone partnership model'.

Basically what this means, instead of 1 sponsor, there will be 4 to 5 partners who would be given zones/corners/spaces in stadium where they can exhibit & market their products. And there will be one main 'parner' who will have the stadium naming rights. This reduces their risk. And also enables stadium to change their partners when a deal is done and replace easily with another.

Example NFL Metlife Stadium.
Cornerstone partners - Pepsi, SAP-EMC, Budlite, Verizon,. All four signed 20-year contracts valued at $8 million annually. Metlife is the primary sponsor, who is pumping 18m a year. These 'partners' are allotted huge space, ranging from 40,000 to 50,000 sq feet across multiple levels, including real estate outside the facility.

Total revenue for metlife is around 45m a year...This stadium is shared between 2 teams, so probably deal values are a bit skewed.

But in essence, IMO, we will go for this model.

Two reasons :
i) We are not the most successful club right now. Its all potetnial with us. So, makes sense for a brand to not be the lone
sponsor. It minimises risks for them
ii) Since 2016, every club announcement till date on sponsors, we are not at all using the word sponsor. Instead for example when AIA announced its deal extension till 2022 in May 2017.

If Daniel Levy can do something similar to Metlife, it will be a game changer of immense proportions. We will skyrocket in global football branding.

This thinking (which i fully agree with) probably ties in with latest ITK from Hercules in the Transfer forums... We have done good business that will slowly come to light over the next months into the summer, probably the release of these partnership agreements

I would not be surprised if there is a long list of partnership opportunities ranging from food and beverages to IT and telecoms etc etc.

Of this long list there will be several that will be considered cornerstone due to the extra exposure they will get around the stadium i.e. possible named stand/entrance or social area...

But there will probably still be a stadium naming deal which may or may not be one of the cornerstone partners.

Over all the total could be significant and knowing how well we are run it will be

I thought Hercules info was more about player contracts than Sponsor deals...

I think you'd have more leaks that it'd be coming. Although there would be a media embargo, journalists would have been briefed by now, so they could prepare pieces.

I agree. We got the biggest leak of itk on this from Galahad and Prof on COYS. You'd think if anything big had happened we would be getting similar itk coming in but there's been nothing. Sure they might not of heard but I think there would be some leaks.

Its been confirmed that we are going down the cornerstone sponsorship route by levy himself and in documentation. I can't see us destroying a cool looking stadium by having all that logo shit all over it. It would be horrendous.

you could be right, but it didn't feel like that to me, if it were a signing or signings (or even contract extensions) i think he might have phrased it differently?

Khan is there on his FIRST visit to the new stadium. Such pathetic support from the Mayor that its taken him this long to visit the development site.

Probably because of his disinterest in it.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy says the club has been “taken for granted” by politicians “for too long” and said Sadiq Khan’s administration has taken “such little interest” in the scheme that he feels “embarrassed.”

They wouldn't use this as an opportunity to announce the stadium naming rights, would they?

Kahn has got better things to worry about. Did you see how hard it was to get Boris down there when the locals burned the area down? The little prick was in the Bahamas or something and refused to return until the tabloids forced him. They don’t give a shit, it’s for local councils and MPs to look after local issues. The Mayor has sod all power anyway aside from having a bit of PR when it comes to rolling out some bike crap for tourists; we got permission to build from the Secretary of State who was Eric Pickles at the time after Lammy stood up in the commons and asked him a direct question.

NFL Announcement link

Raiders v Seahawks on 14 October. So the ground will be ready for then!

Edit: they've had a conversation about whether season ticket holders can buy their seats for the NFL games.

I view this as very good news as I doubt the NFL would announce the game if there was a realistic chance the stadium would'nt be finished in time.

Can't wait to return home, getting to Wembley is really starting to grind me down.

Trying to explain this to some most is like trying to push water uphill, try as you might you’ll get nowhere.

Still, I commend your effort sir
davidmatzdorf made a pretty respectful and comprehensive reply to me. And I suspect he is more picking me up on loose words/ideas and opinion which I have no evidence for.
How could I, when the financials are confidential and we can only guess how much the stadium will cost let alone anything else?

But with our main asset flattened, what are we borrowing against? I don't think it outrageous to suggest that the club's owner being one of the richest men in the world might well be giving assurances to the banks. Just an opinion, but I have backed it up, in that it is logical.

But I have a follow-up question which I think I'll let you answer, bobbins, as this all clearly seems pretty trivial to you.

Enic do not own the assets of THFC, just the majority of the shares. OK.
But if they sold THFC, any offer for the shares would have to take the assets into account, or Enic would not sell.

Alright, the loans currently match the main asset, but if all goes to plan, the stadium could well be paid for in 10-15 years.

How much would the stadium be worth at that point? If it is generating £100m profit pa and will last another 20 years say, before it needs major renovation then that sounds like a £2billion asset to me. And that money will go to Enic, one way or another, should they sell the club.

I'm only kidding, bobbins - I don't really expect an answer from you. :)

Just noticed the date on that article and it was February last year, pretty sure he was chasing up some action on White Hart lane station plus I believe the local council has signed contracts for the development of High Road west to proceed so I'm not sure if it is still relevant.

Think the NFL commercial implications are only just dawning on me today after reading various articles. NFL is watched by 250m a week in the states and worldwide. Say half of those watch a MOTD type program. That’s possibly 125m that now know Tottenham Hotspur exist that had no idea before. If we can actually deliver some success on the pitch in the 5-10 years I firmly believe we can become one of the best supported teams in the states. The commercial spin offs from this must be huge. Quite confident our revenue in next 5-10 years will take us to 4th biggest possible 3rd depending on what goes on at Chelsea. Whatever you feel about Levy in regard to transfers he has pulled off an absolute master stroke with the NFL.
