I know they wouldn't announce it. But saying that the funding isn't reliant on naming rights and that until a deal had been agreed the name of the stadium will be the Tottenham Hotspur stadium doesn't sound like they are too close.

If they had said we were in advanced negotiations and hopefully a deal should be announced before the stadium was opened. Then that would mean that a deal was almost in place.
But it’s quite obvious that funding was reliant on a naming rights partner, otherwise we wouldn’t be closing in on the topping out ceremony without one.

I’m sure that Levy has deals on the table, and it’s all a game of chess at the moment. He’s well aware that journalists comb through this meeting looking for their headline points, so everything he says will be deliberate.

In those minutes it mentions the club would welcome help in getting numbers for test events. Where do I sign up?!

I'm sure they'll say more once they actually know when the test events will be, what they are and how many fans they need or are allowed. Often though priority is given to people in the local area who've been disrupted by the construction works. After that though hopefully some will be offered to season ticket holders.

Levy moved the goalposts. I assume we will see the deconstructing of the stadium beginning shortly, with the materials heading over to Stamford Bridge.

As he said the funding isn't reliant on a naming rights deal. The banks wouldn't make the loans on the hope that we get a decent sponsor. We have to had proved that we can pay even if we didn't get one.
I hope that we have someone lined up.

Amazing how things like the compression rings and naming are seen as such important milestones to us fans. Indicators to put our minds at rest. Don’t worry, they’ve got this :D

Not sure if this is the right place for this, or if this is widespread news, but just been told that there will be an update on the seating strategy and st renewel in the next few weeks.

It’s in the discussion document from the THST meeting with DL. Asked to pay a deposit soon and then the balance in May. Different strategy where supporters will be able to sit together if they choose and not be moved in blocks. New East and West stands will be the same prices. Everyone will be sent a brochure explaining choices.

In reality the naming rights financially is pretty small fry even if £20m. Yeah it’s handy but in grand scheme of things it’s not really a game changer. Beating juve alone and getting to 1/4 finals is worth £10m approx on its own. For me the biggest interest/significance is just what the actual name will be.

It could pay 4 players almost £100k a week. But you are correct.

The difference is that the money for stadium rights is guaranteed income. We aren't guaranteed to reach the quarter final of the Champions League or even to qualify for the competition in the first place.

Sounds like I and others may be priced out of sitting in the East stand where I’ve been for over 15 years.

What makes you say that?

Probably because they are changing the pricing for the new stadium and sitting in the East stand will now cost the same as sitting in the West Stand, which due to unrestricted sight lines and better facilities was quite a bit dearer at the old ground.

The top tier will probably be cheaper though? A bit further away from the pitch admittedly.
At the end of the day the price will be determined by supply and demand as it always was. For the first stadium will be very high. Although this might drop afterwards.

If I remember rightly, the top tier of the West stand was a bit cheaper, but still dearer than the East Stand. In the old ground, I used to sit in block 10 of the west stand, which I think was the 2nd most expensive ST, with those sitting closer to the centre circle and bench having the most expensive ST

From the minutes of the last meeting, it seems that they will be keeping much the same pricing structure, except of course for the east stand. Going on the pricing at the old ground, those in the east stand face quite a big increase in the new stadium.

I did hear earlier they were trying to create more parity. Led t believe the West will reduce prices a bit and East increase. They still have one hell of a lot of seats to sell.
