I've been looking at the stadium site and the fixtures, both televised and not televised. I reckon the first game could be one of:

Chelsea 24/11
Southampton 05/12
Burnley 15/12
Bournemouth 26/12
Wolves 29/12
United 13/01
Watford 30/01
Newcastle 02/02
Leicester 09/02
Arse 02/03
Palace 16/03
Brighton 06/04
Huddersfield 13/04
WHU 27/04
Everton 12/05

What do you reckon?

Makes sense. If the 2nd test event isn’t until December they aren’t going to risk saying Burnley is the match and then something happening at the test event to screw that up.

If the 2nd test event isn’t till the start of December, then it will be the Man U game. They can’t give Burnley, Wembley and the PL just 2 weeks notice

If we really are delayed to MU what happens if we get a home tie in the 3rd round of the FA Cup which is due on weekend of January 5? I can’t see us still getting some preferential treatment for this to be switched/swapped or any other alternative

If they get the safety certificate by the time the 3rd round draw is made and we get drawn at home I’d expect us to play at home.

The 2nd test event was originally beginning of September and the Liverpool game was mid September. So no difference.

I really think that the next test events will only take place when they're certain it will pass them. I'm expecting the test events and opening game to be confirmed together for that reason.

If the club could wait until the end of November to make the decision on Burnley I think you'd likely see that be the first match, but the league won't let wait that long which means they have to err on the side of caution.

Is there anything to say how long before abounding the venue we have to give?

Hearts opened a new stand that was running late (played a few games at Murryfield) but didn't get the safety certificate until the night before a game.

Fans were finding out on the day where the game was.
The 2 grounds arnt far apart though.

It wont be end of November though, if the first public test event is late November then the behind closed doors test event (which failed last time) will be sooner. I think we do that test event first before we announce the public ones and opening game. So basically if we announce the test event dates it's because we've past it behind closed doors. In which case we'll be confident enough to announce the first game.

Really find it amazing that they haven’t announced anything yet about the Chelsea match, it’s only 4 weeks Saturday. If it’s going ahead at Wembley they need to do refunds and get tickets on sale etc etc

I'd have to imagine that logistically a Prem match has a lot more that needs to be sorted (police, travel, away fan and player accommodations).

that was because at the time we never expected the problems, Liverpool club and fans had to make re-arrangements with 17 days notice. they won't only allow Burnley 13 days, and after the Man C fiasco I'd expect the PL to want notice before.

I really hope I'm wrong (even though I will be watching that game in some bar in Tenerife), but I'm sure Burnley fans will want to know what trains they need to book in advance, and I doubt Spurs will announce Burnley as the opener without safety certificates in hand

What I'm saying is that when we announce the public test events it will be because we know it will pass. Those events are a forgone conclusion really. All the critical stuff is done behind closed doors (of course you wouldn't risk the public for those ones). So if we announce the public ones for end of November and early December we'll be able to announce the first game too. So the public test events and Burnley game really comes down to when the private test event is done. If they do that mid November and pass then they can announce the public test events and opening game (which would be about a month notice for the Burnley game).

(Except for last time!?)

I hope your right, I would say that Levy might be worried in the sense "once bitten, twice shy", but then when you think of transfer markets it doesn't usually work that way:whistle:

Heard announcement was gonna be today I’d imagine tomorrow latest. Maybe they held it off a day after last night. Honestly I don’t know why you guys are still trying to guess the date and stressing yourselves. Nobody knows and there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it. Personally feel a lot more chilled since I’ve just accepted the worst case scenario of next season and anything before that is a bonus.
