Just watched SSN and I dont think we will get preferred bidder status. Where would that leave us? Could the club concievably move even further away from Tottenham?

Living in South Wales its not such an issue for me if they stay at White Hart Lane or not, obviously I would prefer them to stay, but only getting to 1-2 games a season I dont feel as emotional about the club moving away.

All up in the air if we dont get the OS

Based on what's been posted elsewhere, seems like the NDP isn't an option in the short and medium term and f sd don't get the OS we may have to look elsewhere.

An interesting angle in this BBC article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/rogermosey/2011/01/the_fight_for_future_of_the_ol.html

If we're talking about the Singapore [the Olympic Games bid] promises, one of them was about the cost of the Games and in 2005 it was estimated at £2.4 billion.

By 2007 that figure had risen to an estimated £9.3 billion and that level of increase remains eye-watering, even though it was blunted politically by the huge sums bandied about after the credit crunch and the banking collapse.

So actually for taxpayers in the UK there will be another promise on which they want some return.

At the moment we don't know how the real financial numbers add up, but expect this to be a big part of the debate about legacy: what most people will want is an Olympic Stadium that works in a Park that attracts visitors - and at the lowest cost to the public purse.

Funnily enough we don't hear Lord Coe banging on about that broken promise much...!

If (and it's a big if as I didn't see it) the guys on glory glory are accurately portraying what was said, essentially Levy has said even if we don't get the Olympic Site we'll be moving out of Tottenham.

Can someone corroborate this?

Yeah its true. Pretty much said it's gonna be the olympic stadium or somewhere else. Seems like the WHL development isn't even an option anymore.

K then. Time for the "future plans" shite on the OS to be taken down I guess. What a waste of time and money. AEG been in Levy's ear, talking about how the "North side" of Londonshireland isn't a goer?

David Lammy is going to have to consider his position.

Right I just watched it on SSN, he was asked what we would do if we weren't named preferred bidders. He never said we are definitely moving out of Tottenham, he just said we'll consider other locations even those outside of Tottenham. Like before he was asked about the NDP, and he said at the moment it's not financially viable. From that brief interview at no point did I get the message we're definitely moving out of Tottenham.

Kishman has it spot on Matty

I watched it aswell, he never said we would move, but it is not financially viable to develop the NDP. We would have to look elsewhere

I really think you should tell that to the good ole boys on Glory Glory. They're out for a lynching and Levy's first in line. Listening to them you'd think he was the anti christ, and we wonder why other fans think us fickle?

Just seems like us (the fans) are being treated like mugs.

First of all we are promised a nice brand new stadium on the existing site. Then were told were applying for the OS to keep all options open. Then when it appears we might not get that they start dropping hints that we may just move somewhere else anyway.

What are we goin to be told 2 or 3 weeks down the line.

I don't think we are being treated like mugs.

I would love to stay at WHL, but not to the detriment of the club going down the pan financially

Thanks for the clarification chaps.

You'd have thought he'd have thought about the viability before spending £70m on professional fees and buying up land around the lane

I know things change, but that's a fuck lot of money to spend only to change your mind.

Or for the goalposts to move, the sand to shift etc.

I would like to know where this line of (financially viable) was crossed. We've had these plans for over 2 years and if they thought it was financially viable in the first place when did it become not. I don't believe the plans for the NDP will be completely abandoned, but I am quite worried about the effect the OS bid has had on the relations between the club and council.
