Brochure here talking about the projects:-Together with Croydon, Tottenham bore the brunt of the August 2011 disturbances in London with serious damage to buildings and businesses.
Now that the physical environment has been repaired, we must restore the confidence of local businesses and people. We will bring forward opportunities for long term growth by removing the barriers to private sector investment and ensure local people have the skills to benefit from the opportunities this will bring.
Working closely with Haringey and local partners, we have set up a taskforce, led by Sir Stuart Lipton, Tottenham’s business ambassador and Haringey’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration. The taskforce will ensure that the funding on offer delivers effective regeneration and growth. It will oversee a programme to:
The Hale will become a new urban centre with a range of housing, employment opportunities and community facilities. It will build on existing investment in the area improving the station, committing to a £34m scheme at the gyratory and completing parts of the £400m Hale Village scheme.
- stimulate investment at key locations in Tottenham, and build on the momentum of the 2012 Games, by bringing back into use vacant and damaged sites and working with developers to bring forward high quality developments
- ensure Tottenham makes a good first impression by improving the physical realm. Examples include removing railings and clutter on The Green, High Road and Northumberland Park, improving shop fronts and signage, better traffic management and enhancing the walking environment and open spaces
- help young people in Tottenham fulfil their potential by promoting positive activities, supporting families, reducing re-offending and enabling youngsters to stay in education or take up training and job opportunities including apprenticeships
- enhance Tottenham’s transport by improving Tottenham Hale and the gyratory, working to increase capacity on the West Anglia line between Liverpool Street and Cambridge, upgrading the Seven Sisters interchange and ensuring the station and those at Bruce Grove and White Hart Lane fully accessible.
Does this mean the stadium can finally go ahead now?
Or will there be another spanner in the works?
Begin in the summer along with construction of the stadium??Construction work for new developments on the riot affected sites will begin in the summer along with construction in connection with the Tottenham Hotspurs stadium development and continued build out of the £400m Hale Village scheme.
'living off immoral earnings' In other words he was a pimp.
As the case was almost 30 years ago my memory's a tad hazy, but my recollection is that he appealed against a much longer sentence and had it overturned.
One has to chuckle at the upright moral outrage on show here. I'm sure if he and Gold were arms dealers or bankers it would be perfectly OK.
Not to me, no, it wouldn't.
So, doI have your permission to still consider these two reprobates to be beyond my own personal moral compass
Cheers for posting L A Yiddo interesting to read the article mind you I'm sure SS57 has been saying for months that the Anglia line is to be expanded as that puts the block on a Northumberland Park tube station. Presumably it will mean one pair for fast trains not stopping and one pair for local stations which could allow increased capacity to Northumberland Park overground.
One wonders just how squeaky-clean the Tavistock Group and ENIC are. Perhaps best not to enquire too closely.
You are perfectly free to do whatever you wish, but for SC members as a body to get all hoity-toity over the activities of a couple of tit-and-bum merchants is entirely laughable. See the Defoe and Rihanna thread amongst numerous others for evidence of this.
Thought that this bit was a bit presumptuous?

So where does Mr Lewis and his relationship with one Mr Soros come on your moral compass? He's made (and lost) much of his money out of banking and it's not like he even pays any tax when he does make his billions from betting that the markets will crash.
Try to keep up.
You don't even seem to know the genesis of the post you are quoting.
So from that I take it you have a moral problem with Lewis?
So from that I take it you have an immoral problem with Lewis
Yes, you are correct. I have a moral problem with everyone - but especially with you.
All I was trying to ask was whether you have a problem with Lewis, after all he is just an investment banker in all but name, in that he doesn't work for a bank.
I'm not knocking you for your views on the dildo brothers, I don't agree with you, but it's a matter of personal opinion.
Found this on COYS from Galahad who is apparently ITK on the Stadium
"Full steam ahead.
60k.
1 or 2 bits need to be tied up.
We're hoping (but not done deal) to make announcement before end Nov.
Should make your mob happy."
No announcement before the end of November then.
Although he didn't say which year.
