56 thousand capacity? :(
It's not a problem, trust me.
A few thousand to the Building inspector or whatever the going rate is
and we can shave an inch off the seats spec; 6'' off all the gangways
and we're good to go, by my caculations for a minimum of 60.000, maybe more.
We'll have to falsify the order dockets and lose all the invoices obviously
but no-ones gonna count 'em for chrissake. Lifes too short.
You ask David he knows about these things.

I thought it had already started. I looked through the construction gates and saw a metal framework going up in the far northern end of the flattened lane. It must be for someone else. I'll post a pic shortly

Can anyone that goes to WHL take any progress pics? Even what's happening around Paxton Rd or the High Road? Would be greatly appreciated for us peeps who can't get there.

With absolutely sod all on the official site in terms of the progress of even the supermarket any info would be appreciated!

Almost the entire area has been cleared except for a couple of units near Paxton Road. There is a large metal-framed structure (i'm guessing this is the supermarket) is going up along the Northumberland park Road.

Hmm so the superstructure of the supermarket is going up. Has the Archway Steelworks on Paxton Rd been demolished yet?

No that's still there along withe Jehovah's Witnesses place pretty much everything to the side and behind it has been flattened,as has most of the buildings up the High Road.

Interesting. I thought the CPO had gone through on both those buildings. That *might* be one of the hold ups on any announcement. The Archway Steelworks probably need premises ready to move into, plus the owner was absolutely no fan of Spurs (from what I read).

Surely the only real hold-up is that we don't have the money yet?

We definitely got the CPO on them. They might have X months to move or they might have already. I don't go down there during business hours. But the buildings are definitely still there. I remember someone said we demolish buildings as soon as we own them so as to avoid paying rates.

Think this is the supermarket - these types of frames go up very quickly once ground works are completed. It'll be taking shape in no time.

Yep it is the supermarket. The steel frame is flying up (as it should). Looks a big structure for a supermarket (height wise)

LoughtonSpur posted this on Skyscrapercity earlier today:-

Drove down the high road today and turned down Northumberland Park to have a look. There were a lot of workers on site and therefore a lot of work going on, so I can see it will come together pretty quickly.
It looks bigger than I thought and it looked like there was some sort of juts coming out of the back (I assume to connect it to the north podium). Didn't have time to take any pics I'm afraid. Sorry.
I then went further up the high road and it looks like the demolition team have moved into 881 where the new free school and flats including the big tower will be built. Looks like the site is half cleared and there are spurs flags flying inside the site which backs up the fact it is a site spurs have acquired and is part of the overall enabling development plan.
