According to swiss ramble (see thread in spurs chat) we spent £42m on the new stadium and training ground last year alone. That seems an incredible amount of money for a club our size.

It is, just updated that thread with an article he published yesterday by Swiss Ramble - the £42m is the largest investment made by a PL club last year.

I expect we will also be making another significant investment this year - although less than the £42m which contains the bulk of tyhe cost of constructing the new training ground.

Letting people exercise their legal rights? Wtf has this country come to, leftist bullshit. Would never happen in china, if you want a family kicked out on the street there. Theyre on the street the next day! God bless em.

Haha. Reminded me of these:

What is the world coming to when you can't even rely on the chinese to oppress the daylights out of people??

Consultation Document for the Improved Public Space between WHL station and the Stadium:-

http://www.haringey.gov.uk/922.6_hrw_consultation_8.2.pdf

Thanks for posting.

Not as far advanced as I thought they were - I aasume that 'Winter 2013 Final Masterplan Agreed' means that planning permission will at least be agreed this year.

All 3 options include the 'Stadium Walkway' that Spurs want, but not sure how attractive the bigger redvelopment plans could be to finance in the current national financial situation, even by government.

A lot of emphasis in the discussions on the new stadium centre
on getting people in and out of the area as fast as possible by improving transport facilities.
But here there is some attention being given to providing facilities to upgrade the amenities locally
which will encourage people to spend more time lingering within the area before and after games
and therefor spending money; eating, drinking, shopping, consorting with ladies or whatever.
Increasing the spend of the 56.000 'extras' each match day and not just at Sainsbury's is important
It also spreads the transport load.
Many fans arrive early to meet in the local pubs, staying later could work too.
I haven't read all the documents so perhaps this has already been raised.

15 years phased out redevelopment, that is a long time but expected of a project of this magnitude. The new Sainsbury's is set to open in 2014 according to the report, thought it was 2013?

Is it me or does just having a 56,000 seater stadium seem deflating? Would of prefered 60,000 plus. :D

Sainsburys should be built by november. After refurbishments etc... probably open early 2014.

Yup, the building physically complete by end November, but the fit out is not being done by builders so that will follow, followed by Sainsbury putting in freezers, chill cabinets, shelving etc before it opens in 2014.

Would be a truly massive project and would change the face of Tottenham massively.

I can't wait for the new stadium and the whole area does need regeneration, but it is going to be horrendous getting to and from the ground while the building works are going on. My other concern is just as we seem to be building a project that is delivering a club to compete with the others at the top we will have reduced capacity probably over two seasons.

Reduced capacity is not anticipated for any period whilst constructing the new stadium.

I understood it would be when they cut and shunt the first part of the build with the existing stadium, e.g. paxton will have to be knocked down before they can build the second half of the new stadium.
