A new picture was put on SkyScraperCity. It's just a different angle of the 'cleared site' picture that was put up a couple of days ago, but someone has put an outline on it and it seems to demonstrate just how much bigger than WHL the new stadium could be..

Thanks for posting. Hope there's a bit more space round the stadium than that though.

Lol. Keep dreaming, guys. I can promise you London is down the list a bit of locations for a potential new franchise. A ways down.

Move along, nothing to see here.

Apart from the fact London is continuously mooted as the place for a new franchise, to the point that games are played here as a feasibility study, and actually sell out

Its mooted because its on the list. But it is not as high as quite a few other cities here. Probably on par with Toronto which isnt high at all. Logistics just do not work out what so ever making a full blown franchise there not feasible, which is why its just not high on the list

Yep, we're doing all the work for a laugh to pass the time

So you think a double decker pitch arrangement is at all realistic?
How would the lower pitch support the massive weight of the upper pitch?

I think I'd go so far as to say even a normal sliding pitch arrangement is not very likely.
Where is it going to slide? Under Sainsburys?

Wembley, rightly or wrongly, for decades was famous for the best football surface in the world, and is now regularly ripped to shreds to pay the bills.
If Levy decided that was a price worth paying to get our stadium built, the FA are not in a position to say anything.

You really think Sainsbury's would have worn waiting several years to build their new supermarket? Dream on. They've been partners from the start, and part of the deal is that the old Sainsbury's site to the north of the ground will be developed for housing once the work on the adjacent Cannon site is complete. Without the housing to help pay for it, the stadium wouldn't be viable. (Also, all those new residents are going to need somewhere to shop.)
Well I knew we were building flats but I didn't know about building flats on the 'old Sainsbury's site' but the question remains - would the total extra revenue from having effectively moved this supermarket outweigh the total costs of delaying the stadium by 1-2 years, including playing away as a tenant with a reduced capacity for a season

If it does then I would like to see those numbers.

Don't forget the public square etc is being built around the stadium mate. The whole of the immediate surrounding area is going to be unrecognisable from what it's like now (y)

it's been previously discussed and answered on this very thread. If my memory serves me correctly, it would slide under the newly constructed, and rather huge seating/stadium. I think it may also have been suggested that it could be slid out into the newly created parking area. Anyway, you may want to read this, which also states the possibility of a sliding pitch - http://hotspurhq.com/2013/10/27/tottenham-redesign-new-stadium-include-american-football/

Maybe hats why we have applied for an accommodation block at the new training centre to alleviate the logistics problem. Only flights required.

I don't think that 'we'd keep it under the stands' was a serious suggestion.
And any spare space around the ground is going to have a block of flats on it.
But you never know, if the nfl boys are going to throw silly money around to have things just so.

I still remain very sceptical of Greysonti's double decker pitches though.

Based on the mock-up photos we've seen i reckon we're looking more like this:

Although the shape i've made is a pretty rough design compared to the mock ups we've seen.

Are you being serious? You cannot say the logistics do not work when mid-season games are played here with no detrimental effect on the team's season.

As far as I am concerned American Football is possibly the most boring sport ever invented, and really do not care either way if a franchise is established here, but it is utterly ridiculous to claim the logistics are not feasible when they host games every year at Wembley and are looking to increase the number not decrease it.

I don't actually think there's anything in the NFL thing now but as for a franchise in London the attractions are pretty obvious I think.
Of all the American cities only New York's population of eight million compares to London's not to mention the eight million or more that live outside but within an hour of central London.
The next one down is Los Angeles, which is less than half London's population plus of the approximately 200,000 Americans in England it's reckoned half live in or around London so the potential catchment area is huge.
As for that picture with the outline of the stadium, if you lay the pitch in the centre of that you can see how much extra space the stadium is going to have. Different scale all together.

edmonton responds to todays NFL story:
Either old story rehashed or wishful thinking.
Spurs flew to US to meet NFL who ended the meeting after 30 mins according to a non Spurs source of mine.
NFL going to Wembley unless something very major changes. Spurs have wasted enough time and money on this nonsense.

link to story: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...London-based-American-Football-franchise.html

Seems as though others may be picking up on Edmonton's info?

Spurs deny NFL link - http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/9630198/-

See all the quotes in the 'article'
