Lots of progress recently on the site. There's now a bridge between the floor of the ground floor to the pitch and some big concrete pours happening today

From the times:

Spurs can beat Chelsea in Wembley race

Tottenham Hotspur are close to securing a deal to play all their home matches at Wembley during the 2017-18 season which could lead to Chelsea delaying their proposed move to the national stadium by 12 months.
Tottenham’s redevelopment plans are at a more advanced stage than those of their London rivals, as they received planning permission to build a new 61,000 capacity stadium from Haringey council in December and the redeveloped White Hart Lane is due to open in the summer of 2018, which has enabled them to move ahead of Chelsea in the race to secure Wembley.
Tottenham have indicated during negotiations with the FA that they are willing to share Wembley with Chelsea for one season, but the west London club would prefer exclusive use and are becoming increasingly resigned to postponing their own move.
Chelsea submitted a planning application in December for the construction of a 60,000 stadium and are hopeful of being given the go-ahead later this summer, but Hammersmith and Fulham council are understood to regard it as a complex case and consent is not guaranteed due to a number of unresolved issues regarding road and rail access to what is a highly residential area around the Fulham Road.

They aren't "postponing" their move. It's only the press that have cooked up this "Chelsea battle Spurs for Wembley" fuss. I can't believe that Chelsea's project management team is so naive and over-optimistic that they think they can apply for planning consent at the end of 2015 and be ready to move out 18 months later.

I've posted several times on this thread that, unless Abramovich has bought himself a room-full of H&F councillors, it's going to take many months, perhaps over a year of deliberation before the planning consent is resolved. There has never been a chance that they could get on site by Summer 2017.

The article says that we are causing the delay to Chelsea because they don't want to share. In reality, and based on our experience, it always seemed optimistic to suggest they would be so far along to want Wembley at the same time we do.

Indeed. It's just the press trying to post-justify their silly clickbait story after it's been punctured.

Yep agree it is totally insance for them to look at where we are progress wise on building out stadium - having overcome all planning obstacles and already laying a shit load of concrete and piling foundations into the ground and look at where they are in the process and assume that their stadium will be being built at the same time as ours.

Firstly, we should like to thank all our fans for their patience in the past few weeks concerning the delayed renewal process. We have been involved in discussions with the stadium contractors regarding the build programme and any impact this may have on the current stadium and our ability to stage Champions League fixtures. Considerable works are planned for the close season in order that we maintain our target of opening in time for the start of 2018/19 season.

A number of options are still being considered in terms of bringing certain elements of the build forward, in particular the North East corner.

At some stage, there will be a requirement for works to take place in this corner of the current stadium due to the need to install one of the six vertical concrete cores necessary to stabilise the new stadium structure. This core is the only one that sits inside the footprint of the current stadium. During the close season preparatory works will be undertaken on this area of the stadium.

In order to retain flexibility for these future works therefore, we shall not be selling Season Tickets in the North East corner for next season.
Around 1800 Season Ticket holders will be affected by this and all these fans will be contacted directly by the Ticket Office once alternative seats have been allocated in the next 10 days.
The areas of the stadium that are affected by this are all seats within Blocks 24, 56, A and B and some seats in Blocks 23, 55 and C. No Season Ticket holder will be required to pay more for their relocated seat than the price paid for their current seat and any concessions that are applicable will remain in place.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and every effort will be made, where possible, to ensure that those relocated will be moved to equivalent seats and sat alongside the same set of supporters.

Given the need to relocate this section of our fans, current Season Ticket holders in all other areas of the stadium are advised that we shall not, unfortunately, be able to accept any applications for seat relocations to alternative areas of the stadium during this year’s renewals period.
The impact of any works that might be undertaken in the North East corner would result in a reduction in seats for games next season of approximately 4,000 in total when general admission and corporate seats are included.

In order to comply with all UEFA stadium requirements for staging Champions League fixtures, we are discussing options that include the possibility of playing our European games away from White Hart Lane next season.

Please be assured that, regardless of venue, we shall continue to offer accessible pricing for cup games, including European matches and also retain our popular family ticket packages to ensure we maintain a fantastic atmosphere for cup fixtures. We shall provide further information on this as soon as confirmed.
In respect of Season Tickets and Membership - online applications will go live and renewal packs will be sent out from 31 May with a deadline of 12 June for Season Ticket renewals and a deadline of 24 June for Membership renewals.

We should like to thank all of our supporters for their understanding in relation to the above information and in respect of the building works surrounding the stadium as we approach our last home game this season.

Taking into account possible works to the North East corner, we shall be undertaking additional photography at our match on Sunday against Southampton, including 360 degree shots to ensure that we capture the bowl in its entirety. Further details about this will be sent out soon. Please wear your colours and show your support for what is sure to be a memorable occasion.

So, it looks like getting a ticket next season on my bronze membership is going to be a tough ask.

I'm glad their getting this started in the summer though. Waiting till after January just seemed to be asking for trouble.

I think the club could definitely have coughed up that this was going to happen much earlier, given the rumours/leaks that have been going round. I can fully understand and support why it has to happen, but it should have been communicated earlier than it has been... It's going to make getting tickets much more difficult for a lot of people, and those who thought maybe they had another season left to take in a game at the current version of WHL (which is quite a few fans I know of) now probably wont get the chance.

Not sure this area will be knocked down until Xmas as rumoured earlier. Think this is to ensure there isn't a mid season upheaval.

Surely they'll do it over the summer. This isn't just getting some seats up. Roof supports, terracing, sight lines etc, all need to be checked and made safe for thousands of supporters. It's not the kind of thing you can just rush in 13 days.

No - get 50,000 into Wembley and prove it IS possible to create an atmosphere there!

Yep, while I'm all for the romanticised idea of a last season of champions league football at WHL. Sadly I won't be able to go if there is a reduced capacity (not that it would have been likely without it), and that's just not good enough. At Wembley I'll be able to watch Spurs play champions league. So Yayyyy!

This is news I've been dreading for weeks now! All season it's been a bit of a dream of mine that we we give the current ground a fitting champions league send off!
We all know that at its best the atmosphere we can create is as intimidating as they come! The teams we face next year will love to play at Wembley and severely dent any chances we have IMO
Plus I didn't think our last European game at WHL would be that limp Dortmund performance.
nessecary evil it maybe but it's one I dont like at all
