Actually, I go to all the home games. Honestly. I really do. In fact I would say I've been to WHL around 300 times in my lifetime. So I'm as entitled to my view as you or anyone else. I'm not complaining either. Just saying things as I see it. If you and others disagree then fine. But at least respond with sensible counter arguments instead of cheap insults.. You said something about moving to MK in a few seasons. Is this a fact now. Or have I missed something?
I never said you weren't entitled to your view. You go to WHL more than me.

My counter-argument is that people who live right next to the stadium have said work is going on. I don't understand how you are saying things as you see it, as people who LITERALLY see it disagree with you.

Firstly, I'm not a troll. Spurs is my life. I am just voicing my opinion based on the facts and the historical form of ENIC as I see it.
Secondly, to issue a lifetime ban would be both cowardly and an admittance you'd lost the argument
What 'facts'? Others have given you 'facts' and you've ignored them. That's not basing your opinion on how you see it, that's seeing it through anti-ENIC tinted, broken, dirty glasses while putting your fingers in your ears.

Herein lies the problem.

On your visits to "all the home games", you apparently refuse to see that groundworks for the northern half of the new stadium are fairly advanced. Maybe if you swallowed your prejudice and stopped to have a look at the site entrance, just off the High Road, you'd be able to "say it as you see it" without being six months or so out of date?

Give it a try, at least.

What is the relevance of the "historical form of ENIC"?

It would only be meaningful if you were talking about like for like clubs. Slavia Prague; AEK Athens; Vicenza (all ENIC portfolio clubs, prior to being divested)...........what is / was the average attendance for these clubs? What was the potential upside? How much revenue, realistically, was there ever to be gained from investing heavily in new stadia for these clubs? My guess? Very little.

Forgive me, but only a simpleton would put Spurs in the same bracket. And I'm sure you're not a simpleton. Clearly, there is a great need for a new and bigger stadium for Spurs; clearly, the upside is potentially huge; clearly, a new stadium could deliver game changing levels of added revenue; and - most importantly for ENIC - clearly, a new stadium would add massively to the club's value.

So to argue that ENIC have no interest in building this stadium is just nonsensical. They have EVERY interest in doing so. It's just that - much as you don't want to admit it - a project of this size for a company of Spurs' size is an enormously risky and complex undertaking, made all the more so by elements outside ENIC's control (global economic crisis; an insanely stubborn local business etc.).

P.S. Two ENIC portfolio clubs that I didn't mention: Firstly, Rangers, who already had a more than adequate stadium and where ENIC only ever had a minority stake anyway. Secondly, Basle......and without knowing the details there, a quick search tells me that Basle DID build a new 33K stadium while ENIC were 50% owners.

Which seems to be at odds with your claim......

I don't particularly like Levy or ENIC and therefore quite like some of Mr Knobs posts. Nobody else speaks for me, people here, we and all this claiming to represent others stuff have no place on a message board. It doesn't matter where he lives, I live in fucking China and whether I grew up in North London or not also has no relevance to whether I believe Levy will see the stadium project through or not. We've started the build but there must be clauses built into contracts in case those greedy, vindictive cants next door actually get somewhere with their serial appealing. Nothing is remotely certain...

Do you know how you build a stadium? I doubt it, because it doesn't seem like you can build a basic sentence. And yes, that's very un-mod-like of me, but you are just the sort of insufferable poster we can do without. It's all very well being negative - and plenty are - but your bullshit, conspiracy theorist twaddle - passing the boundaries of sanity on many occasions - is simply just too much to constantly put up with.

"I spent many years working in London", well guess what, I go to every fucking home game and I work in the fucking industry of real estate development in that very City you spent many years working in. I spend too many fucking hours of my life doing that.

And if an architect/structural engineer (DM, I'm sorry, I don't know what your title is, but it's "knows his fucking stuff") has told you that a building contract has been placed and that the foundations of a building are being put in (and that people can actually see it with their actual eyes) then construction has started.

Wasteman.

The real Cornelius knob meant in a years time it doesn't matter what you, whoever you are, may claim.

It was in reply to one of my posts and he clearly said he would come back in a years time and not 'next year'. I can't honestly be bothered to go back and find it though.

Oh and on the subject of Cornelius, anyone who goes back and rates messages as spam 8 hours after initially replying to them is really not worth the effort. That's a bit sad tbh.

You're a moderator. Do something about it. It's not comical or anodyne. The drip-drip-drip of troll-posts about this subject (and many others) is how internet factoids are set up by malicious fuckwits. It's why semi-inattentive people, who aren't really nasty, nevertheless share the assumption that the stadium is a distant fiction. Becauase they read this horseshit all the time and don't distinguish it from reality.

The way to deal with trolls is to issue permanent bans.

It's being discussed.

This is the age of the impossible, obviously we should build the new stadium in the air. Place it over and across Archway, on large poles. :smug:

I often wonder what the rights are to these things. I you purchase a plot of land, do you own that span of x and y co-ordinates as well as the lower and upper 'z' co-ordinates? Or can you not own the area of sky above it, or the depths below? That might sound stupid, but I'm intrigued to know, if anyone is in this sort of field*

*no pun intended

I dont live in London. I spent many years working in London. I now live near Milton Keynes. The stadium isn`t being built. stadium construction hasn`t started. Where do you live ? Somewhere over the fucking rainbow ?

The most flattering outcome for you involves admitting you're trolling, otherwise it doesn't look good for you

You do own the land above and below your property. For example if a neighbours tree was growing over your land you have every right to chop the branches off. However you have to throw the branches back over the fence otherwise it would be theft. :)

Although officially the Queen owns all the land in Great Britain.

That's cool.

I can still harbor plans about one day building a crappy looking bungalow with 16 floors below it like Felonius Gru. Planning permission? I think not.

Dear Knob,

May I ask what you think the pilings that have been sunk into the ground in a weird stadium shape around Archway are? The contract for the pilings and other such pre-build work was signed and sealed and cost Spurs £50m.

Surely it wouldn't make any sense to spend £50m and start work on the stadium foundations if it won't be built?

I bet he doesnt believe in Space travel, he has never seen it. I bet he thinks we never went to the moon, it was all a big conspiracy by ENIC to sell Space raiders and Milky ways!

Guys this is just becoming childish, and ruining a great thread. It's up to the Mods to do anything if they wish. Otherwise let's not make it worse.
