I still think it's the goal of the NFL to have a team relocated and based in London, and I think they'll get it (Jacksonville).
Im the opposite. I dont know why they'd bother. Seems an awful lot of effort to me.

The NFL game has another 2 month leeway though for the stadium to be ready. We do not. Wouldnt be surprised at all if we have to open next season with a long stretch of away days.As a note - I fail to see how DL/NFL does not have a contingency in case the stadium is not actually ready. Perhaps Twickenham or Wembley has been put on some type of standby for that date? It would be neither possible to absolutely guarantee it will be ready, nor possible to cancel that game. A further cut off date will have been agreed for say May (also allowing for the Football) to make the final decision. May may be too late of course.

I do understand this chaps, but at some stage IF the stadium just won’t be ready then the NFL game will also need to be relocated. Yes we do have the option of Wembley once more (God forbid) for football. Just because NFL has been announced now for October cannot absolutely guarantee it will be ready at the moment. What happens if it fails the safety certificates? It would be negligent to not allow for this ‘low percentage(?)’ possibility. We have an option for a second year at Wembley if need me. Looking at where we are I'm confident that we'll be into the new Stadium by the summer.
The final raker has gone in tonight in the south east corner. The supports for the roof up next, then the compression ring completion. Then the big one. Raising the roof. The fit out of the south stand should be relatively quick once it's water tight. Most of the stand is a large void (atrium). The perforated cladding on the rest of the exterior should be starting soon plus the atrium glazing in the West Stand facing the High Rd looks like it's be starting soon too.
I think they are so confident now, that they only thing stopping them saying it will 100% be ready is the possibility of acts of god type stuff - torrential flooding, hurricane, etc. Or some numpty forgetting to tighten a nut properly and a section collapsing. We’re into the red zone basically.I do understand this chaps, but at some stage IF the stadium just won’t be ready then the NFL game will also need to be relocated. Sliding pitch really makes me nervous. Not just for delays at the outset, but if anything goes wrong later with the field not rolling out properly, or heaven forbid, there is a seam in the turf and a player tears a knee...I said it the other day, but will again, the two major potential delays - roof, or more likely the sliding pitch - are still to come. They can be confident but cant be sure until those two key hurdles are cleared.
I have no interest in NFL or knowledge of the market etc, but I can’t help feeling that the only way we’ll see a ROI is if a franchise materialises.
The amount being directly contributed by the NFL and the two game per year agreement is peanuts compared to what it’s likely to have cost to make the stadium bespoke for both football and NFL.
I think it’s more likely long term sponsorship and the possibility of getting US potential buyers with deep pockets interested in buying the club once the stadium is up and running and a proven success.
I wouldn't be so sure. Some guy on Twitter said the stadium being built is an optical illusion.Daniel Levy said yesterday that the ground will be ready for next season and when asked "from the start?" He said yes from the start of next season.
I'd hazard a guess he would know.

Couldn't be. He's also an optical illusion.Wasn't stephen fry was it?
Peanuts isn’t the right word. It’s no more peanuts than Spurs playing there, assuming they fill the stadium for their games. Ok they pay for the privilege of using our ground but a full stadium is very lucrative. Potentially the NFL games will bring home more cash than a fair chunk of premier league games, and also as a concert venue the stadium could be open on average a good extra 15 days a calander year. The sliding pitch definitely is a excellent option on the stadium, I just can’t see why anyone at this stage would be negative about it
