No doubt this has been answered somewhere already but it's been bothering me so I'll ask anyway. Why is the real grass pitch the retractable, sectioned one on top with the fake grass pitch lying fixed on the ground below? Grass grows in the ground, needs sunshine, knits together as a whole and is more delicate than a big, flexible, synthetic carpet, so shouldn't the carpet be the one rolled out on top? Seems counterintuitive to me.
I assume that it’s more practical to install the rails for the retractable pitch under the artificial NFL pitch than it would be under a grass pitch plus the sight lines already mentioned.

Ok so the grass is going in but WHEN are they going to bloody well paint the white lines?

Goodness me there's a lot bleating from wannabee Alan Titchmarsh's last few days.
Fact 1 Levy will be having top quality turf laid
Fact 2 WHL and Spurs Lodge pitches reknowned for being excellent
By the time we play first big match the pitch will be excellent, and with our top drawer groundsmen, will get better in the coming years.

Could it be fate, or destiny that we will potentially be playing our first game in the new stadium against Burnley..? Also established in 1882.. How fitting that would be!!

Looks like screens are being tested at the moment (gone off now though)
I've got so used to seeing trucks, cranes and people in the bowl that it all looks too peaceful now.

Seriously? So it's essentially an NFL stadium that can be adapted for football when required. Surely the NFL hangers-on could all just sit on the front row of seats, or they could have a trench to stand in. Can't see the sections of grass all slotting together seamlessly. Has it been done before?

The pitch retracts into a 'grow-room' to keep the grass growing/healthy/strong.
If the NFL pitch was on top, the grass would get no light for the duration...

Erm, obviously no?
