Kind of similar to last season in which we looked quite flat in this same fixture, we probably even look a little better today. It's been a strange performance though, not bad but not good.

You don't expect much to come from Dier and Sissoko in midfield but Dele, Eriksen, Lucas and Kane have been very flat too and there's no real cohesion between the group of them.

Aurier is and probably always will be a mixed bag!

Obviously the issue could be him and Sissoko together. Both rash and prone to lapses in concentration. They worry us all no doubt when in possession!

Agree - Sissoko is playing to his ability and no one should be surprised as this is his level. That he is starting is the issue - laid squarely at the feet of our recruitment policy

Lay it at Poch's feet too as there are options in the squad and on the bench at his disposal but he's gone with Sissoko - as he often did with these options last year.

Am so concerned about our lack of sharpness and fitness. No proper pre-season for our best players. Kane, Alli, Eriksen all look unfit to me.

Its tricky. I see it like a scale. For a player to be somewhat exempt from criticism they need to be doing more good than bad for sustained periods.

If the reverse is true that player becomes a target for criticism and that's what we are seeing with Aurier and Sissoko.
But the reverse isn't true if you continue to ignore the good and only focusing on the bad

Absolutely lovely cross from Aurier for the second cross, taken first time with pinpoint precision.

That having been said, he has got to settle down. W-P must be shaking his head at times watching this guy.

It’s wonderful that we have players like Alli and Eriksen who can get the ball forward and into some dangerous areas, and I love seeing a pacey Spurs player stretch out defenses again in Moura, but we clearly lack that central player able to make connections with passes a la Winks, or with his feet a la the Mouse. Need these guys back ASAP.

I would like to see us go a back three bring Toby on and Sissoko off and bring Eriksen deeper next to Dier push Aurier and Davies higher up the pitch

All the moaning about Sissoko and Aurier, but Kane and Eriksen have been worse than both of them.

Liked Dier's game so far and think Dele and Davies have been decent as well. Hopefully this is a sign of goalscoring to come from Dele.
Kane and Eriksen have proved their class mate over multiple seasons

Aurier really needs to take his game back to basics, he has everything to be a good player just tries to over complicate things too often and causes himself trouble.

He's brainless. Lots of ability but not enough between the ears to be a good player. You'd think he'd have stopped diving in by now, but no.

With better players in for Sissoko, Aurier and Davies, our starting eleven are as good as any to challenge for the title.

The non stop aurier bashing is tiring, I get it you don't like him, don't want to have to read a gazillion posts every match thread about him being shit.

Is there a macro or something were you can disable reading comments that feature the word aurier

The Aurier bashing will end when he improves.

It’s a hot and sunny day on the first day of the season after a long and brutal summer on these guys, I think we’ll be okay.

You seriously have to wonder how Aurier and Sissoko get in our first 11 and then both weaken the same side of the pitch.
