BBC Live Text
90 Mins GOAL Newcastle 1-3 Spurs - Harry Kane
87 Mins Yellow Card - Bentaleb
87 Mins Sub - Mason for Paulinho
80 Mins Sub - Davies for Rose
77 Mins Sub - Dembele for Chadli
75 Mins Newcastle sub - Armstrong for Anita
62 Mins Yellow Card - Cabella

60 Mins Yellow Card - Vertongen

53 mins GOAL Newcastle 1-2 Spurs - Christian Eriksen
Newcastle are not level for long. Having been fouled himself, Christian Eriksen dusts himself off and then curls over a free-kick into the box that is clearly designed to be a cross but beasts everyone, including Tim Krul and finds the far corner. That could be a decisive blow, stamping out the home momentum.
45 mins GOAL Newcastle 1-1 Spurs - Jack Colback
Would you believe it?! Just 18 seconds into the second half, Newcastke equalise as Ayoze Perez drives into the Tottenham box and sets up Daryl Janmaat for a shot that is blocked but followed up by Jack Colback to strike into the net. Finally, the home fans have something to cheer.
HT subs - Obertan and Ameobi for Abeid and Gouffran
Half Time Newcastle 0-1 Spurs
44 Mins Yellow Card - Lamela

41 Mins Yellow Card - Paulinho
40 Mins Yellow Card - Colback

29 mins GOAL Newcastle 0-1 Spurs - Nacer Chadli
If the mood around St James' Park was grim before it is even grimmer now as Nacer Chadli is gifted possession and then allowed to make ground, find space and pick his spot with a low curling shot from 25 yards. It is the game's one moment of quality and with a bit of luck will spark it into life.

It will be interesting to see if we can turn up for a game again this season. Mason and Bentaleb need a rest so you can guarantee they will play. Eriksen and Chadli should be benched as they are dreaming of page 3 girls and sangria. Let some of the reserve players get a chance though they are probably looking forward to a couple of weeks in Margate. All in all a bore draw I reckon.

I bet Sky's selectors are regretting picking this one.

No they don't as most will be tuning in to see how many empty seats there are?

The game will get plenty of coverage for the planned anti Ashley boycott... a big Spurs win I predict.

Got quite excited to watch the match, realised it was a pointless faffing Sunday match again.

There's absolutely no excuse not to win this match. The prospect of finishing far worse off points wise than last season, where many people here were up in arms about what a supposed shambles we were, should have people fuming. Newcastle on current form are one of the worst teams in the league. Their fans are planning a boycott, and our team has put out a few very poor performances the last few weeks.

Lose this match with poor team selection again and there will be major criticism for Pochettino unlike anything he's seen yet. With Southampton and City to follow, you could be looking at season where we finish with less than 60 points. That'd be a first since the Ramos era, and would entail an epic collapse that will leave players like Lloris likely to consider why exactly they should stay at the club.

Who's looking forward to the meltdown on this thread when the team is announced and we see that Poch has picked Chadli and Townsend again?

We'll win, and probably play pretty well.

Just a pity we decided not to turn for the last two.

Anyway, 3-1 Spurs. Newcastle are pretty poor, missing some key players and the atmosphere will be flat.
