"After the Chelsea game something changed"

This part of his quote is really important I think. Were the players mentally fried after that game? Did their determination and energy in training drop? Have their been problems between players? Or has he seen a bunch of players give up? I think it's pretty apparent hat an experienced leader has been needed at times, someone who could have got into their heads to keep their fight and energy high. I felt completely dejected after that Chelsea result and my attitude changed towards our season, hat must have changed in the players mental state also?

What? I haven't got an agenda with you and i apologise for mentioning it but you are just ridiculously negative. Sure the result was terrible and manager seems as annoyed as most people on here but we will improve and the difference of our play between this season and last season has been astounding.

Ridiculously negative? I think you maybe need to go through my posting history, you will find that I am extremely positive and overly optimistic and have been the majority of the season.

Today was pathetic, utterly fucking shambolic, there is no defending it and realistically this season was probably our best chance of finishing in the top two for some time, next season the league will be much stronger and there is no telling what impact this result will have on us going into next season.

Just because I am critical of the performance today and it's wider implications doesn't mean I am "negative" it just means I am not going to kiss the arse of majorly overpaid "professionals" who couldn't be arsed to put a shift in and have completely ruined what was otherwise a fantastic season.

We are back to square one after today, all the hard work undone after these last few weeks, excuse it all you like but that's my opinion on it and if you think that's negative then so be it.

I've never said they learned their lesson, I'm saying I hope they learn from this for next season. It's the youngest squad in the league, they will make mistakes and have off days. That was our only 'hammering' of the season. Yes, under the circumstances it is s***, but I'll take 3rd with 6 defeats and auto CL group stage qualification.
Did I say you said they learned their lesson?

No, I simply highlighted the fact that we've heard time and time again the statement that lessons have been learned and frequently seen the same mistakes made (as in I wouldn't be so quick to assume we will learn from this)

A young side making mistakes is acceptable - one showing no pride, no fight and no desire is not.

In other news,

while police were busy at old traford a second threat was reported at the Arsenal game a small package was found in Wengers y fronts, he asked for the bum disposal team to be dispatched but the man in charge, Dave 'spursey' Yidlington said we dont have the resources for a second call out and the size of the package was not significant enough to worry about.

We bashed Stoke and then we struggled to break down a dogged West Brom, we were still bang in the title race at that point. Played well against Chelsea first half and then it was over - and we havn't been able to recover our form since then, probably because of physical and mental fatigue. We've tired a bit and when you couple that with a bit of deflation after Chelsea its not massively surprising what's happened. Obviously today was, but we just have to get over it. Also need to remember we're a young group and have come a long way.

Today fucking hurt, but the way I'll handle any mocking will be simply to agree that we did fuck it up but also point out that we played some fantastic stuff this season and a have great future under Pochettino to be excited about, the new stadium and CL football next season.

I hope you are right mate, I really really do.

Bunch of spineless lily livered invertebrates, the most shameful and disgusting Spurs performance i have ever come across, a RELEGATED team down to 10 men ffs

A good friend of mine went to Newcastle, flew there, staying in hotel, probably not a lot of change out of 1k by time flies home tomorrow, those spineless ****s should refund every spurs fan that went today every penny they spent, and some more

But what do the players care? In a few hours time they will be back in their mansions with Porsche's and Lambo's in the drive and sit in the hot tub and think of that jaunt to Dubai tomorrow, the ****s dont give a shit bar Lamela, Rose and Kane
Invertebrates tend to be spineless.

Can we please stop pretending that we were title challengers, the closet we came to reducing the gap was 5 points, we never commanded the top spot and we finished 3rd, 11 points behind the winners. It is pure fantasy to suggest a thing, we have to stop trying to convince ourselves that we are something we are not. This has been going on for months now, we are title challengers, this is a new Spurs, Stamford Bridge demonstrated fight and that teams would no longer bully us. If we keep doing this and ingnoring the obvious then we will never learn.

I said we were, and yes after the Stoke game there was still an outside chance. I never implied we were favourites. Realistically, any small hope ended after the WB game - Chelsea was just the final nail in our coffin.

Being a spurs supporter is like being in an abusive relationship, you always believe they will change and sometimes they have moments where it really feels like it but then ultimately it always ends the same way.

I have spent far too many weekends of my life watching performances like this instead of spending time with my family and next season it is going to change, I am taking a step back and only watching the highlights, I couldn't give two flying fucks about the CL quite frankly as we aren't going to win it so what's the point? I can't be arsed with the stress of it and I have a genuine belief that this team is probably going to get picked apart again by other clubs and based on these last few performances a few of our players may get itchy feet, next season will be a clusterfucker of epic proportions in my honest opinion.

If it isn't I will eat my words gladly but results like today normally have huge consequences, something doesn't seem right, our players just don't look motivated anymore, what has changed? Is it simply because we lost Dembele and Alli? Or is it something more than that?

Or do the players just simply not give a shit? Because losing 5-1 to a relegated side with 10 men isn't just unlucky or "this is football" it is indicative of a major problem imo.

This is why it's an abusive relationship, weeks ago I couldn't even imagine myself saying this, the polar opposite infact, I know many will probably see this as kneejerk but how many times can we be dissapointed like this before we say enough is enough?

We have a LONG way to go and we need to make some major signing in the summer which I personally can't see happening, it's clear to me a lot of the happy clappers don't invest nearly as much time into spurs as some of us.
Ive said it countless times and I'm sure I'll say it again after today but imo a vast majority of professional footballers are professional in title only.
There's no loyalty, pride or commitment from most.
Just look at off the field antics from half of them during recent seasons and how Villa, Newcastle and Chelsea players have just not given a flying fk.
You don't get professional atheletes not giving a fk or walking about in any other sport quite like football.
I heard on TS few days ago that Stones needs better coaching, thats why he's been shit. He needs someone to tell him when not to dribble about and when to clear it!!!!
Oh really arsehole? Why? Is he a fkin retard? He's been playing football probably since he could walk so I'd have thought by now, what with him being a professional footballer, that may have come up in training. Can this c##t not figure out that insightful gem for himself? He's been shit because he's shit.
They just don't accept responsibility for anything.
Or give a fk. Not all. But far too many.
I really think that Poch coming out and saying finishing above Arsenal doesnt matter was not very clever at all.
Give a pro footballer an excuse and he'll take it.
Humiliation galore.
And the only people who don't feel it are those that were on that pitch.
Im going abroad at end of May on holiday. I'm leaving my spurs shirts at home because we're a fking embarrassment.
Does that matter Poch?
Probably not to the club but it fkin matters to me.

I don't think it is mate, you may be right but normally results like this have a long term impact and we haven't been playing well for weeks, our mentality is not as strong as we thought and I imagine Poch is probably thinking the same right now.
Seen as you like a conspiracy theory Hazardousman.. here's one for ye.. It wasn't Leicester doping but us.. shock horror.. what wat what?.. In the mad world of conspiracies this is how it goes down.. Sacko'sh*t gets caught doping for Liverpool.. all of a sudden there form hits the dirt & is rubbish.. Also our form from that exact moment has been rubbish.. no pressing, no movement..it was us all along that were doping.. the shame..

just as well it's only a conspiracy theory & not based on reality

3rd is better than putting my cock through a cheese grater but lets not delude ourselves that we are the 3rd best team

We are 3rd on default because Utd, Liverpool, City, Chelsea had shite seasons

We need to upgrade big time in the summer in a few areas

Look on the bright side, we got our spurs back, laughing stock team of legends. You don't win anything with kids Hanson said, looks like he was right.
Look I know the undercurrent is forwards and upwards but the last 4 matches have been pathetic. Some called us proper men at chelsea I see a proper loss of control, that cost us big.

I think the players just gave so much up until that point, and that game just broke them. Mentality is so important in football and we just couldn't get back into the right frame of mind after that.

That is not title challenge, that is chasing a challenge, our challenge for the title was about as real as Arsenal's but at least their supporters haven't tried to convince themselves otherwise.

You couldn't write it though could you? It's absolutely un-fucking-believable that EVERY season, despite how much better we've looked than Arsenal in the grand scheme of things, we conspire to fuck it up.

I hope it hurts the players more than it hurts us right now, they're the ones that bottled it today and yet it's us, the fans, that will be getting unholy amounts of stick from Arsenal fans until next year..

A refund to the travelling supporters out of their own pockets is the least I would expect. Pochettino needs to nip this in the bud now.

Wish Pochettino would make an example of Sissoko.

His actions were as disgusting as Dembele's for me... He completely duped the officials and massively undermined the integrity of the game.

I think he should be looking at a 4-5 match ban, given how much it cost us in the context of the game.

It doesn't hurt the players at all

You can see by their lack of desire after the Chelsea game put the title challenge to bed and CL football was already tied up that they couldn't give a fuck if they finished 2nd or 3rd

Poch even said as much

Why would you possibly think it would hurt them even half as much as it hurts a fan to see Arsenal finish above us?

Don't really care what you're calling it, we were still involved before the WB game.

I doubt it hurts many or any of them, with apologies to Kane.
