This could prove the be a huge mistake. Can’t understand why we’d take the risk of going in a completely different direction when our recent recruitment has massively successful.
The only logical reason is because of a new DoF wanting his own set up. If this is because he has an opinion than its very concerning considering the quality of our recruitment with him here. Time will tell of course.

What is interesting is @Hercules did mention at the start of the window that he was going/gone but then stayed around over summer. It could be that we agreed that he would move on after the window and with the appointment of our new DoF who wouldn't be available until after the summer window. Now that the window is closed, Munn has officially been appointed and our new DoF is free to move we are now putting into action something that has been arranged months ago.

Of course im massively reaching here but it would make some logical sense.

No more of a reach that its the start of the End of Days as some seem to think it is!

Were the links to Alemany rubbished by ITK I can't recall?

Pretty sure POK rebuffed this last month.
If I recall correctly PoK essentially said if it was him it would be a big surprise to everyone including him as we have done everything possible to refute the idea when ever he was mentioned.

Other than the report of Spurs sacking him...

That just sounds like, either a complete changing of the guard by Munn - who has been around the club despite not officially starting, so he could have formed opinions on the staff. Or, its something specific with Gabbanini that has happened recently.

Insubordination after being told he wasn't selected as DoF?

We have been conducting this very much cloak and dagger though so really wouldn't rule anyone out.

If, as Charlie Eccleshare alludes to it'll be more of a technical director then coupled with our data driven approach I can genuinely see a move for someone like Lee Dykes.

I mean we would be sacking him to replace him with the new DoF/Chief Scout, we would have given him his 2/3 months notice. If we have a new DoF lined up, that seems to have been the case for a while, its a pretty good guess that he would want his own backroom staff including chief scout.

Oh for sure, i wouldn't rule him out based on a PoK tweet.

Munn is the big picture guy. Strategy, vision, budgets, and so on.

The new DOF will do the nitty gritty. Transfers, contracts, academy, everything Paratici has been involved with. The DOF will be a direct subordinate to Munn in the chain of command.

Think it's been alleged a few times that we're looking into having someone that's more of a technical director than a DoF. Could be we're getting one in the next few days and a surprise new chief scout as well then?

Munn is more a business guy, he isn't a football guy. At least not in the sense of building a team, he will more build the club as a whole.

so a business guy is going to appoint a football guy... not optimistic about this:facepalm:

I can’t believe we would get rid of Gabbanini if he was responsible for the recent recruitment. Would be shooting yourself in the foot. I suspect the new DOF has been working behind the scenes and been advising in some kind of non official capacity. As Hercules as alluded for a while Gabbanini was always going to go anyway.
