Well if we are leaking that he was sacked then I’m guessing it was him who walked. Probably because he wasn’t happy about his role going forward.

I guess if he can get more autonomy and presumably a better pay packet elsewhere then can't blame him for moving up the career ladder.

Why did he leave?

The rumours in the press are that he wanted the DoF job, but if he didn’t get it he wanted to move on and be a DoF elsewhere. Seems fair enough.

Im sure he would have been hoping/expecting to be given the role full time considering he was essentially doing that all summer. Of course it could also be that he just didn’t want to work with Levy.

Apparently Ornstein's said he's heard the DOF appointment is being planned and that will be "low key" or in a similar vein to Postecoglu. IE Not a huge name.

An update. Surprised it’s still unconfirmed and that there hasn’t been an inkling of a leak in terms of names.

The man spent 14 years in his last job. I don't think he struggles with commitment. Sometimes, you start a new job, and it doesn't pan out. Some people quit immediately, while others stick it out for a year or two before jumping ship.
