I think the third candidate is more likely Krösche especially if he’s not going to BM which you would assume is the case if Neppe is staying.
Like like the work Crochet has done, sorry Krösche...:cautious:

There's a pattern to his hires - just hope we dont get stitched up...

Sorry, I'll get my cardigan....

I would think so.

Ragnick stepped up to Global DOF for all Red Bull teams in 2019, and then hired Nagelsmann and Krösche as RBL DOF at the same time.

They both left in 2021 after a successful 2 years together.

Wouldn't surprise me if Krösche was also a name put forward by JN, so would be interesting if it ends up being him.

Just thinking aloud but what happens if we hire a DoF first and their preference is for Nagelsmann over Slot? Do Levy and the board give the new DoF that kind of autonomy?

Then they won’t employ the DOF. They will employ whoever will do as they say

Thanks…That is one of my concerns regarding the whole selection process as potential candidates are surely going to be put off by such an arrangement…

Thought there was a report from one of the journos that if the DoF decided they wanted JN they’re be allowed to try.

Am I reading it right that Trix in the Next Mabager Thread is implying to lack of DOF is holding everything up, and some are refusing to work with Levy?

Therefore no Slot or whoever as next manager has been announced yet.

Nagelsmann back on if we get the right DOF according to The Times.
I wonder if we were looking at the Bayern guy and he didn't want to work with him but now he is staying at Bayern and there isn't exactly a ton of jobs for Nagelsmann to get the sort of money we would offer he is now looking at us again?

I have money on JN @ 40-1 so very happy if it ends up with him, equally I'd be happy with Slot.

But it need to be a joined up appointment with whoever is the DOF/head of recruitment etc.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

On the face of it, Nagelsmann being on board would appear to be a sign that the board are on board with a genuine clear out. Can we trust that we don't end up back in a Conte type situation?

They should but the key is hiring a DofF with a preference to Managers and players who fit our clubs identity and style of play demands otherwise giving them authority backfires like with Paratici who overruled Fonseca in favour of Gattuso and then Nuno…

But in theory yes hire the right football people and then give them full control to make the decisions and build a new project.

We can only hope that the board is in agreement that Nagelsmann is the the best option and that they are willing to sanction a clearout but my concern (without having any inside information) is that the board is comprised of individuals who are largely ignorant of how a football club should be run and to compound matters, most appear to be a combination of arrogant, stubborn, and incompetent...
