Don’t believe we had been linked with him yet. Hasan Salihamidzic. Is that the guy we were loosely linked to a couple of weeks ago?

I thought I recalled some at Bayern wanted to stick it out with JN. Not sure who was on what side of the fence though. He and JN might like a reunion together. (or not).
Or just most of the dofs would prefer to work in silence, they dont have agents leaking everything and this week showed no one in media knows what's really happeningThe silence on this is deafening. Got to assume we are getting turned down by our targets like in the manager hunt.
At some point I suspect they’ll give up looking for one and just appoint a manager.
I'm glad you're sure mate. The silence on this is deafening. Got to assume we are getting turned down by our targets like in the manager hunt.

Yeah, doesn't he have the reputation of being a bit of a dick and falling out with everyone? We should’t be going near Salihamidžić. Only there because he was a former player.
Guessing the Frankfurt DOF will go to Bayern then.
We were linked with their Technical Director. Is that the guy we were loosely linked to a couple of weeks ago?
I’m actually in favour of having former players in governance positions at the club. Personally, I’d like to see at least one former player on the board, and wouldn’t be against someone like Vertonghen coming in as a DOF one day if he did the work and wanted that sort of role. People who understand what a good club culture is all about. But they have to be the right people.Yeah, doesn't he have the reputation of being a bit of a dick and falling out with everyone?
A big part of the Bayern old boys club that has caused so many internal issues.
Oh yeah, I totally agree and I think that's one thing we sorely miss, especially since Pleat stepped away.I’m actually in favour of having former players in governance positions at the club. Do you really expect the club to keep you informed each step of the way? Most recruitment processes are treated with confidentiality because you don’t want candidates knowing if they were first choice or not. Just because the media link certain names to spurs doesn’t mean that is actually what’s happening, just as likely their agent trying to get them a better deal elsewhere by linking them to spurs. Same with the manager search, people read way too much into every rumour and press article rather than just wait and judge the final outcome when it happens (which was always going to be after the season finished)The silence on this is deafening. Thing is that with Daniel Levy saying at that recent talk, that coaches tend to have a two year longevity (he was referring to European clubs but I assume that he was tending to agree) then surely without a DoF, we are more likely to jump around between coaches with different philosophies?Random thought about the DOF. A lot of posters seem to favour this as it puts a football man in charge of football matters.
But another factor that people seem to favour is it is about longevity. The DOF oversees the implementation of a style of play and hires a head coach to fit this.
This hasn’t happened for us in reality. Arnesen appeared to be doing this but then quit pretty quickly.
Comolli then operated very differently and was fired along with the head coach he hired.
Baldini wasn’t DOF but was similar and wasn’t here long either.
I’m not really convinced the DOF is going to give us that longevity and a plan that we’re hoping for.
That’s the theory.Thing is that with Daniel Levy saying at that recent talk, that coaches tend to have a two year longevity (he was referring to European clubs but I assume that he was tending to agree) then surely without a DoF, we are more likely to jump around between coaches with different philosophies?
Which obviously suggests that unless Munn genuinely has a recent level of autonomy then regardless of the DoF, we are indeed a hostage to the whims of DL.That’s the theory.
But in reality we went from Santini to Jol to Ramos with the DOF. All completely different.
If Baldini was overseeing things then he didn’t last long either.
Santini was a Levy pick (Arnesen wanted Jol from the start) and a different DOF (Comolli) picked Ramos. That’s the theory.

The problem is, our longest serving DOF was Comolli at just 3 years, so they aren't lasting much longer than the managers.Thing is that with Daniel Levy saying at that recent talk, that coaches tend to have a two year longevity (he was referring to European clubs but I assume that he was tending to agree) then surely without a DoF, we are more likely to jump around between coaches with different philosophies?
