Christ, it’s so boring that everyone who people don’t like is Levy’s “yes man”. If we accept that Levy will never change, and will always be a skinflint control freak, then finding a manager that can manage upwards and find some common ground with him is not a bad thing. Those managers who are intransigent and want it their way or no way like Conte and Jose will never succeed here because the relationships break down too quickly and we’re left in a mess. To manage Levy is a skill that’s almost as important at this club as managing the players. You seem to care.
The coaching history doesn't need to be comparable but what Ferguson achieved outweighs Ange massively.
Why Ange is being considered for the job is beyond me. Stinks of desperation, cheap and Levy getting a yes man similar to Nuno. "We will make you proud" 2.0 incoming
You still haven't explained why not Mark Robbins or Kieran McKenna?
Obviously the internet is not a great place for nuanced debate, but some people will still call Poch a “yes man” even though it’s well known he turned down loads of Levy’s bargain bin signings after establishing his power base at the club. He still managed to maintain a good working relationship with Levy for over 5 years which as close to a goddam miracle as we’ll ever see. Stories of including Levy in team-bonding trips, using his gaucho charisma to foster a relationship, these things matter. People and relationships matter. We’ve not had that at the club for a while now.
