I think the point I want to get across is I would be very upset if Poch returned because: I think we need fresh ideas and also I’m worried this would appease the fans the most and allow the board to relax knowing that they have a guy they’ve worked with before and therefore think they can get away minimal backing once again. I also don’t even think objectivity he’s a class above other managers who we could get. Postecoglou, Schmidt, Amorim, Haise, Luis Enrique, Gallardo, De Zerbi, Tedesco. There’s probably more I’m missing, but off the top of my head I’d prefer these to Poch. Tbf mostly due to how the board will want it to happen to ease the pressure on them. No matter what, that pressure has to only get stronger. As no manager will have their vision properly backed and seen through by the clowns in charge.

All this talk of a new manager when it will change nothing. We will be weaker next yr if a new manager comes in, Kane leaves, be told of another transitional 5 yr plan and levy will have mugged everyone off once again.

And Levy will have the patience to see through about 15 months of that 5-year plan before changing directions and going for a different 5-year plan.

So much love for a Poch return! i can't see how it would work. Come back into a project that you complained about needing to be gutted 5 years ago but hasn't changed one iota, half of the damn players he had are still getting first team football! I just dont understand what we think would be different?

The style of football, I assume.

I would be up for Poch coming back because he should never have left and needed the opportunity to rebuild - doesnt mean right now im fawning over him. We need to fall back in love with Spurs and that comes from the manager, front and centre, Conte makes you want to kill in all honesty.

Poch will need the cash, he will need the support and thats where the second piece of the jigsaw is missing because yeah dont think he will be allowed to gut the teama nd start again.

IF Poch is given the reigns, the money and is supported - I can see us enjoying the journey again with a new team new players younger team all with th same objective. We are just so fragmented at the moment.

He wanted to rebuild with ndombele and Lo Celso. Enjoy watching a midfield diamond with those two and winks if he comes back. That’s not going to be fun at all.

And he’ll do the bare minimum in the 3 windows in that 15 months to keep us somewhere near the top 6 but nowhere near challenging. Rinse and repeat.

I’m at the point where I genuinely don’t care who the new manager is. You could get Pep or Klopp in and we wouldn’t back them, we’d blame their style for not suiting our mediocre players, and they’d be gone within 2 seasons. Don’t think anyone can succeed with the current parameters, especially with Newcastle coming into the picture.

What are we going to do when Poch comes in and we are still rubbish?

My priority was Potter and has been Potter since Poch was fired but now he has gone to Chelsea, Poch is just a candidate but not like im fawning. Is he perfect? no. BUT he gives a shit about the club and right now we need someone I think to bring back a feeling of affinity with the club. It may not work but im confident it will but only if 1) Levy supports him with who he needs and 2) Poch is given the time and we have the patience. Anyone who comes in will also need tme and patience but the difference between a.n other and Conte - is that we wouldnt have this damn cat and mouse game that we are having with Conte 'will he or wont he'

The Poch era was great but we also had Dembele holding the team together and Verts and Toby were a brick wall. Our performances went massively downhill when Dembele left. Remember when Poch went to the Diamond formation after and it was like watching paint dry?

Sure but you're assuming the guy can't learn or change.

Why define him by his lowest point when there were so many highs?

First team football at other clubs perhaps.

How many of his final 25 man squad are getting regular first team minutes with us now?

Kane
Son
Lloris (who will be gone soon)
Dier
Davies
Sessegnon

Who else?

Sanchez if you really want to push it.

There has been a ton of turnover since Poch was here. And even if there hadn't been I don't think it necessarily means the players wouldn't play for him - if anything they might appreciate him even more.

FWIW, I think we have some players who would absolutely thrive under Pochettino (Richarlison seems the obvious one, as well as Bissouma), but that defence would still need some serious investment. We'd be looking at a back four of Emerson, Romero, Lenglet and Davies most likely :censored:

If Kane leaves with Conte, I would rather want us to rip the squad apart this summer.

If Kane leaves , I would sell
i) Sell Lloris (regardless of Kane)
ii) Son (if someone gives 40m). Keep Son if new manger wishes
iii) Sell Dier (contract expires Jun24)
iv) Sell Sanchez (contract expires Jun24)
v) Sell Sessegnon, Tanganga, Doherty
Lucas will leave in summer

Core of the squad should be Romero, Bentancur, Kulusevski , Richarlison, Perisic (& Son if he stays).

This is the only way to build it well.

We cant bring Poch or any new manager in and then see Dier, Sessegnon, Sanchez moping around.
