Gallardo by some distance. For the reason Spurs9 says above and that he is a project manager. He literally ticks every box for what we need right now.

I posted the bellow link in this thread before. It’s an excellent in depth tactical analysis of his system. I would certainly suggest reading it if your curious why some of us think he’s the perfect manager for us.

I’m definitely keen on Gallardo but I expect PSG will be interested too with his connections there. Guess it depends how hard we push for him and if he would rather prefer the challenge of the prem rather than managing a circus in a farmers league.

Gallardo, Amorim, Enrique, Poch, Di Zerbi.
All good with me. Amorim for the sheer fact that it would immediately piss off the goons (especially if tonight derails their season)

All offer better football than the last few coaches.

I’m not sure he even stayed in DC when he was injured. A lot of players go home to rehab.
He wasn't injured for the entire 2nd half of the season though, the most he missed in a row was 6 games (he played the 4th to last match for example), so I doubt he was away that long.

Regardless of who comes in, not convinced they'll be able to do too much more with this squad , especially with that central defence. With question marks hanging over Kane's future and needing to replace Lloris, new manager could be walking into a tricky situation this summer.

Think its clear now we need someone who is prepared to be given players who are not the finished articles and be able to work with them to take them up a level or two while also fitting them into a preferred system. Is Enrique that man? Really not sure.

With the way we operate, the job just feels more suited to someone who is making a move up the managerial food chain from a smaller/lower profile club or league who sees it as an opportunity to move up and make a mark at a bigger club/league and really cut his teeth on the job.. Someone like that is also likely to toe the party line that Levy sets out at least for the first couple of years.

For that reason leaning towards the likes of Gallardo, De Zerbi, Amorim etc. Not against Poch returning either but fear he'll run into the same issues with getting frustrated when it comes to needing 'new furniture' and whether he'd work with a DoF. Not convinced Levy and Co will trust his judgement when it comes to incomings.

I think gallardo is the type of manager that spurs fans love actually.

We might have had some big name managers recently, but we've always loved an underdog proving his worth.

However, isn't Simeones contract expiring this summer? Could definitely see gallardo going there.

Unless I'm completely making the Simeone situation up.

As someone said on the extra inch podcast

Poch was ahead of the curve with regards to pressing and struggled against teams that pressed

But the whole league are pressing now and are doing more than just pressing and are more advanced tactically

Its a worry that this may not translate well again. Also Dembele was key to Poch's team do well as he was the only one who could progress the ball and resist the press
Yep.

I repeatedly have to say this to my dad who is desperate for Poch to return cause he just wants spurs to play on the front foot.

But we aren't the same team or even club and Poch didn't show enough evolution since he left.

I mean he left 4 years ago end of this year and he's only got 18 months of work to show.

If he'd gone to say, Sevilla and won a couple of cups I'd say he'd shoot right up my list.

But now practically every coach adopts a high press system of sone kind but some are way better strategists than Poch

I can certainly see that. Got to say tho, I would prefer a more full on attacking manager, Amorim still has shades of what has come before.
He does with a more front foot approach, he’s more attacking than Conte but not an attacking coach. He does coach and bring players through, develop them..

Love Poch, but have been saying this regularly here. Also there's a reason the elite aren't chasing after him.

That’s what I meant. He’s more of a balanced manager, is more attacking but still has elements of what is here now. personally I’d prefer more of a change. I can see him going to PSG this summer anyway.

Feels like we're all getting ourselves hyped up about Gallardo with no real reason?

I haven't seen one link yet.
He was on our shortlist in 2021 and Trix said he was on the list this time round. Doesn’t mean it will be him, I have a feeling it will be Di Zerbi, but we have been linked

Look at it from a shareholders POV. They know what they are getting with Poch. Even more so now, since they sacked him.

- They know he’ll use “club signings”, get a tune out of players that aren’t the best.

- He managed to get us Top 4 on a shoestring.

- Got us into finals and semifinals.

- Fan favourite on a free.

He is the safe option. As soon as he gets moody and wants unrealistic (to them) signings, they know the game is up and to move onto the next coach without dithering about.

Right now ENIC will want the fans onside, it makes their life that little easier, he’s available and clearly wants the job and he knows what he’s walking into. He is the safe bet.

Haha what? He’s literally just been at Psg, he’s on real madrids shortlist, united wanted him. You dont get much more elite than that. Just saying 😂

Brilliantly summarised.
