I also think Amorim's stock has dipped this year because of losing core players. I think his Sporting team play with real bravery.

Doesnt matter who our next coach is unless Levy and Co either feck off or change their ways nothing will change, 12+ managers in 22+ yrs tells you all you need to know, not to mention having the shame to sack one of them at half time.

I am not adverse to Poch being the choice should Conte not want to renew.

And I don’t see it as necessarily a nostalgic choice. He is a superb coach and fits into the ENIC model. And would want to be here.

How will Pochettino line us up you think?

Forster
Porro Romero Lenglet Sessegnon
Hojbjerg Bentancur
Son Kulusevski Richarlison
Kane
That's my guess.

Lenglet can't play high line, Poch loves Espanyol and probably knows how bad Lenglet is and celebrated whenever he started games for Barcelona. We don't have anyone who can play in back 4 next to Romero.

I'm not convinced Porro will be a Poch player, fear we've wasted another 40m and built in a wrong direction again if Poch return. This is why I said it's important we know our long term direction before we signed someone.
Trippier has said he struggled at Spurs because Poch demanded him to be both back and front at the same time like Walker managed. Porro likely to be struggle with the same, Royal probably got more engine.

Can udogie and Porro play in a back 4? Highly unlikely it’d work, so it needs to be someone who can do wingbacks

Sorry, anyone above except Poch. I'm still not ready for Poch to come back. Will be feeling like we wasted 3 years. Until we got rid of all the players like Son, Dier, Kane and Davies who have played under Poch, I would hope for someone new and having the wildcard factor.

By all accounts Vincent Kompany is extremely impressive and tactically head & shoulders above most others atm

I’d love him at Spurs with a rebuild but unfortunately sooner or later Levy would destroy him

Poch or Gallardo and give them creative players and let’s have some fun again
Why give them any players. I thought this whole discussion has been about getting more from the existing players.

"Playing to our strengths". "Getting a tune out of the team"

Why is that an issue for Conte, but you want to bring in new players for a new manager?

Agree. I've read here more times than you care to count that Conte is inflexible. Each and everyone here is dreaming about Gallardo. Ok. If he is magic, than he does not need investments. Just play our academy players. Frankly speaking, I can see that Levy this summer will start his "Borussia Dortmund" model by buying young players with high ceiling. That means we will be stuck between 5-6th for several years. Our recruiting was abysmal. We can see now that our financial situation is not great as well. Without CL next season HK will be sold. Conte is leaving. If the club are not going to behave as a top club, why on earth the next coach (Gallardo, De Zerbi or Amorim) is going to stay here in the long run? If Newcastle gets top 4 and MU is sold we will have 3 money dopped clubs and Chelsea. I do not understand how Levy, Committee, the Club (no matter who) will find a way to compete.

Why would a coach not stay here? We’re a big club with a lot of good young players, and have consistently been among the highest spenders in world football since moving into the new stadium.

Our financial situation isn’t bad. We’re running at a loss, true, but we’ve got money in the bank and our debt is long-term on generous repayment terms. We’re starting to see the potential of the stadium, both in our soaring ticket revenues, and in attracting big-money events (Beyoncé). With new sponsorship deals to come in (particularly for the stadium) we should be set going forward.

Because Conte has declined any footballers with any creativity, that’s his fault and that’s why we look so crap. A new manager will change this pathetic set up of only playing one way.

He actually seems to coach on the training field going by videos. All these £15m managers we’ve had stand about with arms folded looking glum. It’s like they are above coaching players anymore.

I’d go for Kilman in the summer.
Porro - Romero- Kilman - Udogie

We’d need a midfielder to do the old ‘Dier’ part of dropping in to the back line. Not sure we currently have that type of player tho.
