What a difference a season makes. Son now being lumped in with Winks, Ndombele and Lo Celso.

He signed a new deal when he and Kane were our only world class players at the same time Kane was trying to get a move to City, so he deserves another chance under a more attack minded manager after one poor season.
Unless we receive a big offer...

I'm no Levy fan , feel free to check my posting history but I want to be balanced where I can.

I honestly believe any football club is one managerial appointment away from looking like a well oiled machine or a disaster.

Levy has made 3 bad ones in a row, even Conte who achieved his objectives but we knew what he would do in the end and he has done it and run away early.

But everything is there for the right man to come in. Levy will interfere, we won't spend as much as we need to but that doesn't mean the new man can't do a good job. Poch did for example.

We don't have the trouble makers Arteta did, we don't have to build infrastructure like United do. I listened to the David Pleat episode of the Spurs show and everyone has missed him saying he expects the chavs to get the same knock on the door that Man city have, I can't imagine he has just guessed that.

I hated tonight, hated it, I bit my partner's head off but looking forward there is hope and the managers available and that were linked with certainty offer that
Fantastic post maté completely agree. Just hope to goodness we/they get the next one right, 4th time lucky 🍀 in their case 😂🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️😅 🙏

A bit of uselessness… So, yesterday the wife and I were in Punjab on Neal Street and on the table across from us were a group of blokes doing that thing when they talk loudly about stuff… quickly became obvious they were sports journalists, but hard to tell who… so, conversation is all about managers and sackings, and one said, “So mate, given your position, you must be hearing gossip about the new man at Spurs?” And this other guy says “Nothing. The club is locked up tight. Not hearing a thing. Nothing leaking out. It’s weird, normally you’d hear something… but not this time…” as we were leaving, I tried to get a glimpse of speaker, but while I recognized the voice. I couldn’t place him. Bald, looks a bit like Tim Vine… the only interesting bit was five journos complaining they are hearing nothing.
Scottish accent? Graham Hunter?

Looks abit Tim Vine-ish...

Poor is being extremely kind. He’s been absolutely horrendous. He’s dropped off a cliff in the same way Dele did, to the point he is incapable of controlling a football. This is the last chance to get a decent fee for him to put towards a replacement which is why he’s in the sell list and lumped in with Winks and Ndombele.
It could just be fatigue causing that, a proper rest post season and decent pre season and he might be back to his best.

We should be looking to replace players like Son by bringing the potential replacement as competition not s replacement. We have so many other players to ship out, we shouldn't be looking at Son.

Just checked, not as Phil Mitchell as this guy, similar, but weedier. They were talking about Jack Pitt-Brooke at one point, but they were of a slightly older generation - so mid-late 50s. It’s bugging me because I know I’ve heard it… pretty sure Jonathan Pearce was with them. But this other guy was obviously connected to us.

Suspect the club’s thinking at the moment is they’ve identified someone they want in for the summer who’s still at another club (Slot or De Zerbi) and they’ve asked us to keep quiet so as to not disrupt their run in while fighting for Europe/Dutch titles.

I’m happy with this, but my fear is we lose Saturday then Levy panics and goes for Enrique/Poch. Not that I dislike them, but because it wouldn’t be thought out. If they were our targets they should be here already.

It’ll be the same bland atmosphere sprinkled with the odd outburst of singing. Too many people at the games who simply don’t give a fuck (tourists) coupled with fans who have been broken.
But fans get behind what they're seeing. It's incredibly hard to really get going as a fan when we've been exposed to the most dog shit boring football in recent times.

He’s one of the few with enough credit in the bank to deserve a second chance, but he turns 31 in July and so if he is still playing like this come January 2024 there’s definitely a decision to be made

Thanks for sharing. Probably because Mr Levy hasn't even made a shortlist, why worry about having a manager football not important we are now a entertainment venue.

David Conn or Matt Dickinson could be likely suspects based on those descriptions - although not sure how their voices would be recognisable unless you've heard them on podcasts.

The thing with Son is I think right now he's one of the worst players in the league without the ball Doesn't press, doesn't cut off passing lanes, and certainly isn't interested in contesting 50/50's. So when he's doing fuck all when we've got possession it's pointless having him on the pitch. Whether it's confidence, fatigue or a number of other factors it could be, he doesn't deserve to play right now.

Dropped yes, sold no. He looks fatigued to me.
More interested in modeling and photoshoots these days…. 😁

I’m sure he’ll come good again, i bloody hope he comes good again…

hopefully a fresh start under a more positive manager will do him the world of good.

I loved Poch though it seemed players were not playing for him and the away record was not great from memory.
Though after today would welcome him back with open arms.
Christian Eriksen looked like he had downed tools and was desperate to leave. There also seemed to be a contract dispute with Toby and some issue with Trippier, which caused him to leave.

However, I'm not sure how of these issues could be blamed on Poch.

We need a rebuild and I'd rather have Poch at the helm with a clean slate.

You're right though. His downturn in form definitely did coincide with him changing agents and starting to do a lot more high profile / global endorsement deals.

And seeing what he has to go through at every game - with the hundreds of Korean fans who stick around for ages after the game to see him, it's no wonder his football has suffered. The pressure on him not to let these fans down who have travelled a long way and spent loads must be massive.
