I be honest, I cba to find links, but Boehly at Dodgers didn't go there to win for the love of sport, he made money

You think these Americans are here to win, you're deluded. They are all wanting to increase their investment, they just have much more access to funds than ENIC. The American sports teams has seen an explosion in the value of Brooklyn Nets was sold for $200m in 2010 and sold for $2.19b in 2019

These Americans are hedging on the growth of the PL, which is the 3rd biggest sports league in the world in terms of revenue and 2nd biggest in terms of viewership

You’ve just described spurs.

Isn't that supposedly what Levy wants us to be anyway? Pretty sure I've read that before.

Difference is Dortmund are not only really good at buying but also selling and reinvesting - they would have sold Kane, Son etc found new talent and gone again.

All their managers there know that's the Dortmund identity and work with what they have. They would never appoint a manager like Mourinho, Conte etc.

They're the type of club that would go for an Arne Slot...

I do worry that Levy doesn't have a clue who our DOF will be next season, or if we'll even have one - so I'm sure that looks great when approaching potential managers.

I don't think so, but wouldn't surprise me. I actually think the reason we aren't in the Dortmund mould is due to Levy and co. They built the facilities to challenge with the big boys and now we're in the lack of identity mode because we're told we can't spend to match some of these challengers, yet at the same time we hold on to our assets.

Totally agree with a few of your points and the reason I want a German DoF, Slot in, and wouldn't be overly fussed if most of our players head out and we fully rebuild from scratch.

I still have zero faith the club knows what it's doing, or even why, beyond picking a new name.

Slot or anyone else, why do they think he'll be the best candidate aside from thinking "I dunno, he might be good I guess"?

Maybe I'm being unfair and after the 19th we'll know more.

Ajax's DoF just became available. I would look at him or a German DoF and get the young talent in the door.

IMO I think the club should look to be the Dortmund of Premier League. Even if there's more turnover than required, BVB get the best young players in the world and offer them gametime, and still get into a few title races/UCL spots regularly.

I know the PL is a different beast, but shouldn't the argument remain constant that you should be able to offer the best young players in the world time in the most competitive league?
Wasn’t that Marc Overmars?! Bayern’s academy manager looks like he’s becoming free this summer. CEO at Salzburg, DoF at Wolfsburg. That would make sense to me! If we’re going for a youth, orientated coach, especially.

Agreed. I don't know too much personally on DoFs but the Bundesliga and dutch league develope some great talents so it wouldn't be a bad shout to get someone who's up for the challenge from there!

I know there are some that are going to be upset if Naglesmann goes to Chelsea but I honestly believe Slot is the prime target anyway, and has been for over a week.
Surprised to find he is only about 6th favourite with the bookies

Just not sure on slot at all, don't know what he's done to warrant it yet!

Dutch coaches are hit or miss remember when all this board wanted De Boer?

It's still early days on Ten Haag, Jol (was ok), Rene Mulensteen wasn't very good at Fulham, Gullit, Hiddink, Koeman, Van Gaal, Advocaat (he was good tbf), it's just not inspiring especially when he hasn't played in the league etc
Jol was more than OK, Rene Mulensteen had managed a handful of games games prior to Fulham, none of which were in the dutch league and none of which were successful. Koeman was better at Southampton than Poch and did well at the shit show that is Everton and Hiddink, LVG and Advocaat were fine at worst, so the only failure of a dutch coach that was successful in the dutch league is FdB and he was only given 4 games, was a complete miss-match and had only managed at 1 club to which knew the entire club.

I’d honestly be amazed if it’s Slot. When was the last time Levy employed a manager who hasn’t managed in the PL before? Does Levy even know who he is? How many Feyenoord games has he ever watched? I think we’ll go for De Zerbi, be turned down and end up with Rodgers because Levy knows he’s got PL experience.

Would have been Ramos, not including interims (or whatever Sherwood was)..?

Worth to remember that Boehly is obligated to invest 1,75 billion at Chelsea in the next 10 years as part of the deal why Abramovich agreed to sell

Our top 2 choices should be Michael Edwards and Michael Zorc (ex Dortmund DoF), as these two have experience of building teams challenging for titles, a lot of the others are building teams between mid table to top 6, which is a completely different market.
