Hey All
Not got time to catch up and read all pages as my daughter got a bit of medical emergency

any news / ITK today?
Not really, Enrique is in London talking to Chelsea but it seems they will appoint Lamps until end of the season so not really any clarification on JN in that regard. Aside from that nothing. Just the assumption that Slot is our top choice and he obv won’t join until summer.

Wrong thread mate, this is now the feyenoord vs Ajax match thread apparently.
I made the same mistake too.

Luis Enrique’s representatives sent Chelsea a full PowerPoint presentation from him outlining every detail about his vision and his plans for each individual player.

And aparantly PSG have approached JN to replace Galtier

Meanwhile at Spurs ……

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Tbh that’s my biggest criticism of slot
Bournemouth were terrible at defending under Howe. To be fair, it could take a while for him to get to grips with our defence but the attacking football has been what a lot of people on here have been crying out for.

I thinks it's the individual defenders that are just absolute dross. Every time I watch his Feyenoord, they miss tackles, miss headers, ball watch and lose their marker. I haven't yet seen a goal conceded where I thought the system or tactics was at fault rather than just defenders not doing their job (I didn't watch today's semi final, so can't comment on Ajax 2 goals today).

His AZ defenders looked much more competent and they only conceded 17 in the 25 games before the league was cancelled due to Covid, so if the kept going at the same rate, would have conceded 23 for the season. This Feyenoord team has conceded 26 in 27.

I think any side that's throwing alot of caution to the wind can look a bit vulnerable at the back if the press is broken.

Look at City this year for example or (to a lesser extent) Liverpool - that's the trade off you get for playing high press, front foot attacking football.

Agree with this, the only issue I see that is tactical is more the general risk anyone takes when pressing and playing a high line. I don’t think there any issues specifically related to Slots tactics just the quality of the defenders as you say.

I reckon that's pretty much spot on, but doubt Gallardo will be on there.

More likely Thomas Frank or someone like that.
Gallardo is on the list, both Trix and Herc have mentioned it.

edit: actually apparently he isn’t anymore
