Ironically Slot would likely be more expensive to begin with as Feyenoord will surely want a lot more compensation than Bayern.

Nagelsmann would be on much bigger wages than Slot ofc, but still probably only about half or, at most, two thirds of what Conte was on.

Regardless, money has never been an obstacle for Levy when it comes to managers.
Tbh I don’t think he will cost much, the highest fee ever paid for coach in Holland was €5 mil for Van Gaal and that was when he was managing the national team. ETH was only €2.5 mil.

I think the financial obstacle (if there was one) would be more in relation to the type of recruitment JN would want in relation to Slot. I could see Slot being less demanding when it came to transfers.

D1:

Things change daily but right now it’s a Toss up between Arnie slot and Nagelsman , I know the media are focused on nagelsman but slot still has a very good chance the board love what he has done at feyernord

re Poch Daniel and other board members will just not budge they know he may well end up at Chelsea now and they have heard the fans singing but they still are not swayed
Good to hear the focus is on Slot and Nags and board not paying attention to the cry for Poch from some.

Thanks for the info. All I hope is that Levy announces our new manager before Chelsea. Hopefully it will prevent the media spouting their usual bollox. I want it to look like Spurs were in control of the whole situation.

I honesty can’t understand why Slot is rated so highly by the board. The standard of the Eredivisie is so bad currently. I would say it’s close in quality to the SPL, albeit less physical and more technical.

I wouldn't be shocked if Naglesmann is just waiting to see if we finish in the CL places before deciding.

Cannot agree with this and think you are doing the Eredivisie a huge disservice. I'd say every team from Vitesse upwards in their league would come at least 3rd in the SPL.

Ten Hag is good enough for United, but Slot is not good enough for us ?

I can’t think of a single metric where that is remotely true, the Eredivisie is far superior.

Always felt since Nagelsmann became available he is at the very lest Levy's preferred candidate. However with Chelsea and possibly other high profile teams looking at him, I think we've tried to distant ourselves from him so not to look like we've lost out to other teams if he decides to go elsewhere. Still think the club will tread carefully and we only start hearing more concrete stuff in the media when the club feel they have nailed him down. Nagelsmann at this stage is more high profile than Slot so maybe if Levy has passed on Poch and he ends up going Chelsea, he may feel he needs to ideally bring in some with a higher profile if possible.

However I don't expect the club will be hanging around too long though and if they see any sign of Nagelsmann dithering, expecting us to move for Slot quickly. Have read the stores that Nagelsmann is 'open' to joining in but he may just keeping his options open at this stage.

IF this is true that they are under investigation (and it may not be) I’d think it would remove Kompany from our list. Last thing we need is any more legal issues.

That’s absolutely ludicrous to even be able to get into trouble for that.

Pretty sure the Eredivisie on the verge of moving above ligue 1 in the coefficient rankings.

Also not totally convinced its a case of Nagelsmann counting himself out of the Chelsea role. Think Chelsea may just have preferred Poch and not taken it any further with Nagelsmann and it's a case of saving face from his camp with these stories of him walking away imo. Right now, Chelsea may feel they need an older, more experienced head with experience of the league to steady the ship there somewhat.

Just cannot understand this. Seems like a really strange line in the sand.
I'm not over impressed with or how they've operated over the last few years but you have to remember that they are basing decisions like this on far more information than the fans have. The fact that it's such a hard pass when they know it would give them favour with the fans, there has to be a very good reason why.

If levy wants to win the fans back he will do everything in his power to make Nagalsmann his top priority. On top of that Nagalsmann isn’t someone that wants to be second or third choice. He wants to be no 1 and rightly so! I hope he don’t mess about and just get it done. If levy can pay Conte and mourinho 15m a year, than he will have no issue paying what Julian wants.
Levy cannot.win the fans back outside of delivering actual.success. a managerial appointment won't do it anymore imo.

It will be Slot, for one massive reason that’s nothing to do with football……he will be cheaper.
Will this never end. If anything we've massively over paid on Jose and Conte. Our manager salaries are in the top 5 in world football. You've identified the one area where we actually spend money... Still, got to hammer that narrative I guess.
