Fuck it get Will Still in 😂
Ha funny thing is I’d rather him than Poch (again not about managerial level but I’m so against getting Poch back until traces of his first tenure is completely and utterly gone). He doesn’t have his license though and Reims are paying a fine for each game he’s on the bench. Not sure if the club would like that. I think he also said the West Ham job is his dream job in the past too so 🤷‍♂️

Exactly this. I can't get my head around people wanting Tuchel.

It has Mourinho/Conte-type appointment written all over it. Why would any Spurs fan want to go through more of that after the last three or four years?
Tuchel is not a manager that demands control of everything, and he is not a counter attacking specialist like Conte/Mourinho. He is a front foot manager who is widely regarded as one of the most brilliant tactical minds in the game and innovative coaches.

He also had an extremely successful spell with Mainz, so it's not as if he's just been handed easy jobs that are not relatable to Spurs.

Looking forward to Pochs second book “the interim - he wouldn’t take me rafting again”

Whilst he’s not my particular choice, I do think some are dismissing him a little too lightly based on the Chelsea factor, but when you look deeper, he took Lampard’s team that sat 9th in the table, and got them back up to 4th by the end of the season and won the Champions League, all without bringing in any new players, used exactly the same squad as Lampard had, so not necessarily another ‘needs backing with elite players’ type manager.
As I said, not my personal preference, but equally there are lesser options out there.
For the record, I’m torn between a nostalgic return for Poch, on condition he’s more flexible with regards working with a DoF and more proactive with development players. Alternatively, I’d be very onboard if we are to go for a completely fresh approach, someone with a record of football played with intensity and some real fresh tactical direction, I’d be leaning towards Nagelsman if Bayern lose patience, or the (I assume) more attainable Gallardo, but that brings its own risks. Have to weigh up the benefits really.

12 Players used by Poch in his previous tenure will still be at the club if he joins in the summer.

Sorry, but that petrifies me and puts me right off the idea. Head over Heart please brain.

I’m the complete opposite. He’ll know who needs bombing out. Any new manager will come in and give them all a clean slate. Poch won’t. Plus he’s been off watching us for a year. He will know who is staying and who is going before he even gets his feet under the desk. You need to view it from a positive standpoint and not a negative one.

Lloris/Dier/Sanchez/Winks/Kane all only have a year left on their contract.

Davies/Tanganga/Lo Celso/Sessegnon/Ndombele/Son have two years. Only Skipp’s got more than that, unless I’m missing someone.

Not like they’d be long term issues.

Kane as Player / Manager ticks a lot of boxes - not sure with the modern day demands in the Prem that a P/M is workable, but I'd be really interested to know Kane's response if it was put to him.

Totally agree. People regularly bring up this thing about all these players still being here from Poch's time like it's a big deal. It would in fact be a lot more surprising if every single player in a twenty-five-man squad had changed in just three and a half years. That would be a turnover of at least 50 players!

As you point out, the handful of players who are still here from Poch's time are hardly significant going forward. Some of them aren't even in the current squad and most of the others are only on the periphery.

Why not just hire whoever Brighton will replace De Zerbi with and save ourselves the big pay off?

As has been repeated ad nauseum it doesn't matter who we hire, while the current structure remains in place whoever it is will be on a hiding to nothing.

De Zerbi is now the buzz word name doing the rounds.
That would definitely be worth exploring if we have been aware of him since Sassuolo and Shakhtar. Imagine we have not though, and it is entirely based on a few games at Brighton. He has also won a couple of trophies already, which makes him totally unsuited to us.

I would be apprehensive about appointing a Brighton manager. Nothing against De Zerbi or Potter but hesitant simply because i think the success is down to the way Brighton are (superbly) structured and operate that makes those coaches look so appealing.

If that happens he'll be taking all the free kicks in training too
