I’m surprised De Zerbi isn’t doing better in the poll. His Brighton team are superb.

I’m probably:

1. Poch
2. De Zerbi
3. Postecoglou
4. Enrique
5. Tuchel
I would like to see De Zerbi have another year in the PL before making any judgement on him.

He is a good manager but is it down to him or the work Potter did beforehand?

Enrique and Tuchel (the two I've mentioned on here today) are the only two names I've personally heard. I'm sure there will be a shortlist with a good few names on, but they are the only two I've heard. That doesn't mean they are the top two choices, so don't bloody panic. Let's see what happens, Conte hasn't even gone yet, but it seems inevitable that it will happen pretty soon. I just don't see any point in sticking with Conte now until the end of the season, it literally benefits nobody. It's just strange times at the club. We have a DOF who is involved in this process, yet may not be with us in a couple of months for christ sake. Does it really matter who the next manager is?! Of course it doesn't! There are several on here who have somehow convinced themselves that a change in manager is going to all of a sudden change our fortune. Well yes we might see better football each week (something I'm desperate for also), but long term we will just be back in this exact position in 12-18 months with no silverware. The problem is at the top! Is Conte faultless, of course not, he's not getting anything out of this squad and the football is dire, but the real problem is at the top table and until that changes, welcome to groundhog day.
Thanks for sharing mate, legend as always.

Totally agree change at the top is needed for us to have a better chance of success.

That being said getting a manager in who at least provides football we will look forward to most weeks would be a good start.

Tuchel and Enrique not top of my list but either one would be a darn sight more positive than Jose, Nuno & Conte.

probablu because he hasn’t proven himself in the prem over a sustained period, or developed his own squad.

most - myself included have no knowledge of his career prior to this season.

As potter has shown at Chelsea - it’s a bloody big leap from Brighton to a big club.

We don't need a Hojbjerg upgrade. Sarr, Skipp, Bissouma, Hojbjerg and Bentancur is a great set of midfielders for a double pivot in a 4-2-3-1. We don't need a LB either with Udogie imo (and even Reguilon). Agree on the rest.
I have given you a winner rating and then re-read the bit about Reggie. I will leave the rating there as I completely agree with the first part, but as for Reggie he is the most erratic football player I have seen live since Atouba.

You all really think the Enrique who has had the pleasure of working with the fantastic Barcelona system and the Spanish system can just come and implement a totally different system of extreme possession based football with us? It doesn’t work like that be serious people
It can, it’s called coaching the players :)

Look at Leeds when Bielsa came in or Kompany transforming Burnley. Can certainly happen and we have some very good technical players who’d be perfectly capable in a high possession system.

There’s a really good bit in Roy Keane’s interview with Tommy Tiernan where he says that Alex Ferguson used to say to the players: “are you happy with the guy who is next to you”. Have a think about that question being asked in our dressing room. There would be a fair few nos.
We have to get Cuti sitting next to Levy when this exercise is done.

Don't forget with all this talk that people will have different sources.

If you are talking to someone in the Paratici camp then I would suggest the targets will sound different to that of someone closer to Levy .

Potter quite quickly changed Brighton. Kompany has very quickly changed Burnley. We’ll need signings but any attacking manager will need signings. We really lack technically gifted footballers in this squad.

My next manager requirement checklist:
1. No ex-Chelsea.
2. No gaslighting the fans.
3. Attempt to take the game to the opposition.
4. Play and improve young players.
5. Be able to physically intimidate and beat up Arteta.

Bentancur is likely out until Christmas- assuming he comes back to the same level at all. Hojbjerg lacks the technical skills to play in a more progressive style.

I agree that Skipp, Sarr and Bissouma can play, but we will need one more CM - at a minimum.

I’ve only seen Udogie a few times this year, but he looks much more like a winger than he does a FB. It will take him a bit to adjust to playing further back in the line up. We may play Reggie because we have no choice, but that is a position that we will need to upgrade to get the most out of the 4231.

Anyone think the club might be letting it out there about this shortlist and Poch not being favoured. Then when he's appointed they can say it was after a thorough examination of the options blah blah. Looks better than just shipping in your ex in a panic.
No, I don't believe anything in the media is from a leak, I think it's all just guess work to get clicks.

I think some of you are overestimating the work that has gone into both the national team and Barcelona and how they top to bottom of the entire country have developed that system to where it is now
