He looks like a very promising manager but for me there are just better option's out there. Like you say, I think we should take a smart risk but I think managers like Gallardo, Postecoglue, Di Zerbi, Enrique would make much more sense in that category and two of those 4 are currently free and i would bet Postecoglue wouldn't be too hard to get.
What's more of an achievement, though? Being top of the SPL or the Championship? I'd say the latter is a harder league even for a side with parachute money.

Like I said before, we already have Yaya Toure here, if him and Kompany are both on the same page we could set up youth teams to play his system. They had great chemistry as players so I assume they are still friends (unless Kompany forgot his birthday). Definitely risky when top tier coaches seem to be available, but it has some great potential in theory at least. Good plan C or so if other options fail. Belgium is great at producing talent so It would be nice to bring few youngsters from there too. I don't care about his love for City, coaches always plan on ending up at Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern etc.

Sounds like a guess with the Burnley transfer embargo news. X club likely needs a new manager in the summer + Y club has a problem = Y's manager linked to X.

Its not going to be a real embargo though, is it?

I thought this was temporary for not filing the financials on time.

But we would be hiring Kompany based off one season of good football. His time at Anderlecht was not particularly impressive at all, although he did have pretty bare bones squad in his second season overall his time there was not good especially defensively they were a complete mess. Personally Postecoglue wouldn't be my first choice ether but he has vastly more experience and has won things in three different leagues. Kompany has done a good job this season, there is no doubt, but it is just one season in his career out of three were he has looked like a good manager, that for me is far too small a sample size to base our next appointment on at this juncture. As I said, there are other available targets which make much more sense, and whilst still a risk they are not as much so as Kompany IMO.

I haven't even looked into it properly. Even if it sticks, it's EFL right? Wouldn't be there if they get promoted?

Either way I think it's a lazy link.

Brazil was probably listening to Tony Cascarino on Sat morning when he was saying we should go for Kompany. When you look at the job he has done you could make a case for it.
In 2017 Cascarino did say that Arteta would be a top manager .Well before he got the Arsenal job.
Poch also tried tried to get him to Spurs. Poch knew him well from PSG.
Cascarino is well worth listening to on Sat and Sun mornings on Talksport . Also writes in the times and on their pod. Probably doesn’t get a tv job because he’s always in the casino.
Best pundit by miles.
Poch knew who from PSG?

This is a reach of inspector gadget levels
Firstly we have no idea that yaya and VK even get along.
I know he’s flavour of the month at Burnley but I’m sure without the released videos from inside the changing room he wouldn’t have the same levels of support.
As others have said, his record at anderlecht wasn’t special and there others with similar success such as gallardo and postecoglu (even carrick) who would be less of a risk.
Not expecting him to hold up a spurs shirt any time soon

Vincent and Yaya will lead us to the quadruple.
