I don't think there's a majority in favour of any candidate.

My personal preference is Nagelsmann followed by Gallardo but if Poch came back I would also be happy.

I'm totally sympathetic to those who say it would be a retrograde step but if we can't get one of the other two then I'd rather have someone with obvious affection for Spurs and see where it goes.

My preference, Nagelsmann, Gallardo, Amorim, Poch, Enrique, in that order. If it was any from that list I’d at least feel like we’ve made a progressive move away from defensive football, even if we do have to wait.

I’d have felt a lot more at ease with this situation, and Stellini/Mason combo, if the statement had said something like:

‘Stellini and Mason will take charge of the current campaign and see out the season, where we can confirm *insert manager name* has agreed a pre-contract to join us as of July 1st’

But, it doesn’t, and this just stinks of incompetence - which I am wholly unsurprised by.

I get this, and agree it would have painted a far better picture. Given Poch Gallardo or Enrique could have agreed already, it seems it’s none of them. Feels like it was going to be Tuchel, but that unique scenario has left us all in on JN. Given it’s only been 3 days since he got booted from BM, I’m not surprised he hasn’t agreed to a new role already, he’ll no doubt take a few weeks to assess what has happened and what is the right next step. If we are talking to him whilst he is making that decision then that is fine. Announcement could have been
‘Stellini and Mason will take charge of the current campaign and an announcement on next years management will be made in due course’, at least feels like it is actively being worked on. No comment on next step does feel like we just don’t know

Poch is my preference, but I can believe that he would favour Madrid and we would favour Nagelsmann. But I think that as a mutual consolation prize, it’s as good as it gets.
I don't get all the madrid links to Poch, I cant see why they would want him, I can see them wanting JN, just hope we don't fuck about for too long but what manager is going to join without knowing what European comp we are in and if Kane is staying or going (and I cant imagine Kane is staying without knowing who the manger will be, chicken and egg situation again ffs

No not at all and I'm seeing all the freaking funny ratings too :cautious:. I guess for once I'm not feeling the doom and gloom and seeing the woods from the trees.

I'm not on a wind up either... shame I'm backing Levy for once.....who knows....he might surprise us and we'll all be happy.
All the very best.

Unfortunately I shall not be following you.

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I feel it is a terrible reflection on the club that we have “sacked” a world class manager (regardless of what you think of his tactics) because he upset the players by telling them some home truths. Not for the first time either.
We sacked him because since October we were bad. "Upsetting the players" only sped it up.

Having competition for a role will help temper demands from the employee as well as keep negotiations honest.

Madrid know if they show too much leg to any one particular coach they leave themselves open to ransom.

A little bit like us with AC, allowed him to set his demands, dictate negotiations (or lack of), run down his contract and then portray the issue to be everyone else’s problem but his own when the milk turns sour.

So we're where we are with 10 games to go and it's highly likely that will remain the case until the end of the season.

Which leaves the possibility of an announcement at any time that *insert name here* will be taking over next season. By 'any time', I do of course mean any time but lets be honest, how likely is that? I can see it with two or three games to go or something If that's how it goes but even then, I guess we all feel the end of the season will come and go and we'll still be waiting but IMO that's scarring from previous fiasco's.

So my GUESS is, whoever gets to take up the poisoned chalice will be announced between 20th May and 10th June.

So around 8 weeks onwards. Go on shortshanks, make me wrong.
Bearing in mind I was right about yesterday and I'm bang in red hot form.....

I predict that pre season training will be taken by no other than our very own........

Ryan Mason.

we have a backline of Dier and Lenglet, the idea Conte was happy with this when the CB’s along with the wing back are the most important part of his system is for the birds.
Lenglet, the typical Conte signing and Dier who Conte consistently praises, plays him every time and wanted to give him new contract. So yes.

In the meantime I’ll receive my notification of next season’s ST prices.

I will say I’ve been emotionally and financially hooked for the last 45 years but there may be those who have not and it may be easier not to renew.

My thinking is that Gallardo would be the better appointment, but Nagelsmann is the kind of appointment we're more likely to make - and I'm fine with either.

Obviously the worry is that everyone has a long list of lots of different names encompassing every possible style and we'll take too long to reach a decision so that all the good choices have gone, which feels like a very likely outcome at the moment!
Yeah I’d agree with that, I think JN is certainly the more likely for Levy but I do feel Gallardo is the better fit especially now. But like you say, ether would be good.

It is crazy how many names there are flying around and some make very little sense. It sort of baffles me because we are actually in a pretty good spot in regards to our options yet every day the list gets longer and more ridiculous. Really we don’t need to be looking at anyone beyond JN, Gallardo, RDZ, Amorim, Poch and Enrique. Not that I like everyone of those or that they will all come but they all have merit. And even then you could break it down further to who you could get now, so Amorim and RDZ would be out resulting in 4 very good options.

Beyond that I just don’t get, for various reasons, names like Slot, Galtier, Glasner etc. I know Slot looks like a very promising manager but 4 year’s experience in only the Dutch league just doesn’t makes sense to me when we could realistically get someone from the first list above and the others are just not remotely a good fit for the club.

Idk, I just don’t get why we are making it so complicated. Or rather I do get it and it’s because essentially those at the top have no idea what they are doing when it comes to football matters. But still, it shouldn’t be this difficult.

People need to relax now, because if they don’t they’re in for a very long unpleasant rollercoaster.

Usually when people on here utter the words “don’t do it to yourself” it’s discouraging people from getting their hopes up. Well I’m saying it now with kind of the opposite in mind. Stressing about this isn’t going to make it happen any quicker, doom scrolling/posting in here and the Conte thread isn’t going to do you any favours either.

We’re all guilty of it, me included. But if this ends up anything like the Nuno summer it’ll all get very toxic if we all start climbing the walls in March.

Everyone just needs to chill, the season is a write off now, and Stellini gets a free hit. Let’s just all try and enjoy football again without the pressure.

I'm numb to it now and am expecting it to be like the Nuno summer or worse given the Paratici situation being delayed today. Almost to the point of not caring who it is as long as it isn't another defensive manager.

I just think don't worry about it and try to enjoy the remaining ten games, which I am expecting to be very up and down results wise.

I reckon the bald headed midget will want something announced in time for the season ticket renewal email, if he had any inkling as to the level of unrest there is. Which he probably doesn't, so you're probably right.

Sounds like they could appoint Donald Duck and you’d renew? Good job there are plenty of tourists waiting to snap up ST holders seats…

People will buy season tickets regardless. If long term season ticket holders don't renew, someone else will buy one guaranteed

The level of unrest will not extend beyond the usual booing at the stadium if we’re not winning at half time. If you’re imagining Levy emerging into a half empty stadium or a cauldron of abuse in our next home game then you’re in for a surprise.

Are you sure about that?

I’d be amazed if 10k didn’t renew that they’d sell them all - unless they were offered to overseas investors!!!

Supporters who were 50k+ on the waiting list were offered a ST in recent seasons…
