But these managers aren’t stupid.

I think a big part of it is that they’ve seen how we’ve operated since Poch and it’s a bit of a circus.

They all obviously talk and it wouldn’t surprise me if they are very wary of working with Levy.

They don’t want to tarnish their reputations that they’ve worked hard to build up.

Fact is, being our manager and working for Levy is a massive gamble.
Agree that’s the other part of all this I’ve been thinking. I’m not sure how many top managers are going to be impressed or want to be part of the ongoing Levy circus.

I just honestly can’t see us getting him. Why would he come to us:
•He could go to Madrid, Chelsea, Liverpool? Etc
•We have no project or direction
•We quite likely won’t have CL football

I just honestly cannot see us getting nagglesman at all, obviously hope I’m wrong.
Liverpool? There is no chance that they get rid of Klopp. Also, surely the "no project or direction" applies to Chelsea even more.

It’s possible klopp could leave or they could call time on it, it’s going stale and he’s been there an age.

As for Chelsea yes agree no project or direction but they have billions of pounds to piss up the wall and buy whoever they want so probably slightly more attractive than our No project or direction option.

Whilst Chelsea do , they have shown under their new owner that the spending is erratic and apparently not what the manager wants. Plus they have spent a fortune on 15 players in the last 2 windows, I'm sure Boehly will want to see some of them on the pitch and should be reluctant to keep bringing new players in.

I think this is very likely why he won’t come. It’s a hyper competitive league, where unless you have a big budget and/or good players, you won’t get in the top 4

it would be a risk for him, and that’s before you factor in the shit show at the top of the club

Er, forgive me, team top of the league, likely to win it?! Their budget is no bigger than ours. Their board had a plan, backed him through 8th, ,8th and 5th, bought players that suited his style and look at how they’ve been rewarded. We won’t have a ridiculous budget but we spend enough that if we got it right player wise with the right coach we could be very competitive.

Sport1 interviewed Nagelsmann's youth coach who is one of his close friends of 20 years according to the article and they asked him about JN's future (translated from German):

"SPORT1: Where do you see Nagelsmann's future?

Tanner: The coaching market is very tight, especially in the top segment, and German coaches are incredibly important abroad. So Julian doesn't need to worry about his next job. Despite his young age, he has experienced everything in Germany and I don't know to what extent that still appeals to him.

SPORT1: Real Madrid has already been in close contact with Nagelsmann. Would that be the next logical step?

Tanner: Real will definitely be an option again, but in terms of language and his interests, I see England as the next and logical step. Whether that has to be Tottenham in all haste, I dare to doubt."

An awful lot of if's, buts and maybe's in there mate. A club with a clear plan isn't waiting around for months hoping they get lucky and everything falls into place at other clubs first. They identify who they want and they get him or move on.
In short, we're f$$ked

Give him a few days to decide and then if no move for poch before we are stuck with someone shit like Ange
Agree that we should.move quick. However I don't think I'm going be quick to say anyone is shit(except Nuno)as you just don't know how the chemistry is going to be and hope to keep open mind!
I wanted Conte, happy we got him though just not worked for whatever reason that maybe.
One thing I have noticed is that media are quick to wrote the narrative befoe out last two managers have started and unfortunately they were right.
Someone to stir the passion on the pitch and in the stands would be good.

On what basis do you call Ange shit? He's been successful in every job he's had and before you say, it's only Japan for example, where did Wegner come from before coaching Arsenal. Bloody morons who don't know what they're talking about!

curlacious

Don’t look at me. I’m irrelevant.
