PSG job is likely to be coming up aswell. That throws a spanner in the works.

Don't think any of the candidates we're after will be on PSG's list. Apart from Nagelsmann, but looks like he's off to Chelsea.

PSG will go for Zidane or Enrique IMO.

I should imagine we could sign him up now for the summer with Feyenoord’s agreement?
Possible I suppose, but why would he risk destabilising his season at a critical point when Feyenoord are going for 3 trophies? Players commonly drop off massively once they know a manager is leaving.

If you're in his shoes you at least wait until the league is tied up to start negotiating with other clubs IMO.

Had Ajax finished their season when ETH was tied up as I think that was done in April?

The club just need to act as one. The more I think about why the club is where it is at the moment, I’m more concerned by the long term stability and philosophy of the club than a particular manager, as there are quite a few attainable ones out there who would have us playing more aggressively. Popular ones like De Zerbi, Gallardo, Slot, Nagelsmann, Amorim, Poch. Less experienced, lesser known, maybe even underwhelming ones like Ange, Kompany, Xabi Alonso, Fonseca, Vincenzo Italiano, Will Still. I can’t even rule out Potter completely, although his Chelsea time has brought some new concerns along with the ones from his Brighton time which has definitely taken him down my list. As long as the vision and commitment to build is there, I have no issue hiring a coach who might not be as experienced or popular. Just one who fits the vision the club have. I am aware this is giving the club way too much credit though.

One what?

Been away for the weekend and I’m catching up to news that Slot may be #1 choice. Please tell me that’s an April fools joke.
anything from Holland just has disaster all over it. Remember how great FDB looked? Ffs
In the PL? Ten Hag, Jol, Malacia, Van Nistelrooy, Robben, Bergkamp and Eriksen weren’t disasters.

We’ve had a few weeks of hearing posters who want a project manager who plays attacking football and that we’re willing to be patient for that.

We are now getting posts calling potter a failure for not playing winning football despite having a squad of 30+ players and only having been at the club for a few months.

Those two opinions are not compatible.

That's actually a really good point. Looking online apparently there were 5 games left of the season and 4 points between them and PSV.

Could be wrong, but IIRC they wanted to keep it quiet but it leaked out, hence the early announcement? Don't think Ten Hag was best pleased.

We need to get back to the policy of going for the promising up and comers, rather than the 'been there and done it' guys.

Looking back that's what has worked for us best in the past, both in terms of players and coaches.

On that basis I am all aboard the Slot train, the guy is a machine. Sorry I couldn't resist.

The last bald Dutch coach we had wasn't too bad.....

Mate, come on.
We stick with this club through thick and thin, no matter how shit things are.
If you can't stick with us through the bad times, you don't really deserve to be here for the good times.
Quite right.

I went to watch us play in the old second division after we were relegated in the mid 1970s.

Keith Burkenshaw was the manager when we were relegated but the club stuck with him and he developed into the club’s best manager between Bill Nick and Poch.
