I would be surprised if he even has the top level coaching qualifications.

Amazing how Sons form absolutely crashed when Perisic joined. I'm not saying it's his fault but something wrong in the play between them.

Its more than just perisic tbh, that whole left side is rotten and has zero chemistry (lenglett, perisic and peh) and it isnt helped by Sons poor positioning off the ball. If he isnt on the last shoulder he ends up in no mans land and we all know how bad he is at linking the play - hes suffering the same as Dele when he tried to change his game and get more involved in the play (in Sons case hes trying to get involved because we now create the square root of fuck all so he cant play on the shoulder anymore)

I really hope it is Slot now and that we are respecting his wishes by keeping this quiet so he can focus on the rest of Feyenoord’s season.

From all I’ve read/seen, he just feels like a Spurs appointment to me. With him I think comes a huge change of direction on the pitch, so let’s hope that if there are/have been discussions, then those visions align because, and this might be wishful thinking on my part, his demands might be more inline with what Levy and co are really willing to sanction. The win now manager just does not work with us currently, that much is clear.

We are going backwards, and might have to continue going backwards to go forward - I just hope the football improves, the recruitment improves and we can start enjoying football again.

I don't buy the "must have Prem experience" narrative, just as I don't see why the nationality of the manager matters. They are either the right fit and are a good coach or they aren't. By insisting they must have Prem experience, or they must come from a country that other successful managers have come from i think we are seriously hamstringing our options.

Agreed.

The only thing I’d say is it’s important that their communication skills are good, so a decent grasp of English is preferable.

But the main thing is that they are a good coach with the right ideas and principles which fit with what we want.

Slot is fluent so no worries there.

I'd be pretty pleased if Enrique goes to Chelsea. Do not see much in him as a manager at all, he has never done well.

Anyone of Poch, De Zerbi, Nagelsmann and Enrique would be interesting in different ways. Anyone who lumps Enrique in with the likes of Mourinho and Conte are clueless.

I reckon that we are going to have a waiting game here. It's hard to imagine Nagelsmann making any quick decisions or Slot just walking out at this stage of the season.
Exactly, De Zerbi, Slot, Nagelsmann, Amorim even Gallardo would probably all prefer to join in summer. I would be surprised if we tied up anyone now.

Boehly probably thinks he can still salvage the season by winning the champions league.

I can see why they’re tempted by Enrique.

I really can see him going there. I think he has the right profile for them more so than JN. I would still greatly prefer Nagelsmann and Gallardo to Slot so I’d be happy if JN is still available come summer.
I think Enrique would probably do fine at Chelsea, but I struggle to see him ever quite living up to the expectations of the board.

Would strike me as a fairly reactive appointment in the sense that he's an "experienced, proven manager with a big personality who has won stuff" which is the polar opposite of Potter.

I just wonder what his ceiling is likely to be at a club like Chelsea in an uber-competitive Premier League. Can see him doing fine, maybe getting into the CL and winning a cup but then burning out within 2-3 years and/or falling out with the board.

Feel like Nagelsmann has the higher ceiling and the potential to really build something there a bit longer term if they support him. If they don't go for him I feel like it will be because the Potter experiment has scared them into picking someone experienced.

Dumb opinion. When was the last time Man City or PSG won the CL? They have insane teams and fail year after year. To claim that Enrique "never did well" is ridiculous.
Think what Enrique did at Barca was very impressive, but that squad was absolutely bat-shit level quality.

Like, City have had some amazing squads, but I don't think they've ever been close to the level of that Barca team with peak Messi, Suarez, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Neymar, Pique, Mascherano, Alves etc. Literally one of the best club sides ever assembled.
