They’re unquestionably more of a shambles, come on now.

Are they though? Spent over the odds without sorting the key problem areas of the squad…we have done exactly the same albeit spread that incompetence over a number of years. They lack a clear vision…as do we. Personally, other than Boehly is making a pigs ear of it after less than 12 months Vs over almost 20 years with Levy what’s the difference? For clarity I’m just talking about a clear football strategy/structure perspective. How are we honestly more advanced than Chelsea in that regard?

if he didn’t pick up the phone to Poch because he has another plan and another manager/DoF in mind or lined up thats one thing - if on the other hand he didn’t pick up the phone, even though he has no plan and no idea what comes next, simply because re-hiring the manager he sacked 3 and a half years ago makes him and the board look foolish, then that needs calling out because he putting his ego and already shitty reputation before the best interests of the football side of the media/entertainment company he has turned us into.

Is this perhaps not the problem with not having a DoF in place, Levy and his clueless cohorts can’t come up with a mutual favourite.
Got to get the DoF sorted, and then they should be the ones making the recommendations over who the manager should be, as they’ll want to choose someone who aligns with their ethos.
I actually think waiting till the DoF is in place is correct. We just need to put some urgency on that appointment, but controlled decisive urgency, not blind panic.
Get Spors, Dykes, Braz, Pinto, Krosche, whoever the latest flavour of the month is, then let them layout the manager shortlist. I’m hoping this brings Nagelsmann back to the party, but that may well be sheer blind baseless optimism.

I’d gone cold on De Zerbi when he acted like a dick at WHL a few weeks ago. Thought we didn’t need another hot headed coach.

But now after Nagelsmann being off the table, and Brightons win against Arsenal, I’m fickle enough to think he’s a great option again.

I wonder how much a single result can swing the board into wanting a manager or not. Hopefully they aren’t as fickle as I am.

He'd ne nuts to leave Brighton for our car crash of a club. If he keeps managing them this well, in a year or two he could have his pick of bigger clubs than Spurs.

I think it’s safe to assume that our board have a different way of operating. Numerous examples of chairman, managers, Itk stating how Levy operates.

If he plays winning football he'll get time. He if he play's good football he'll get time. If he plays dour losing football he won't.

On the surface that sounds perfectly true, but if he plays good football and we lose people will call it dour and I don't think he gets the time. Like Arteta's first seasons up the road - and I hate that this is an example -, but he had a good football philosophy long before it started showing results. And he was given time that he would not have been given at spurs.

It blows my mind that these people can get to the level of being on the board of an organisation this size and apparently conduct business in this way.

They obviously can’t be unintelligent - but the thought of a board acting in this manner is beyond comprehension.

Regardless of knowing that Conte was leaving since December. To have not decided their approach since sacking him seems ludicrous. What are they doing in these meetings and how can they not agree on an approach when the situation has been as it’s been for months?

If Saturday is as toxic as people think it could be then I wonder if Levy is strong enough to not panic, not that he probably isn't already.

Remember that Man United game, it got Nuno the sack and Levy went off on his own to get Conte. If Saturday is similar I can see him panicking and offering a Nagelsmann or De Zerbi (one of the higher profile names out there) a bucket load of cash and promises.

By Saturday presuming we have made no appointment Poch will be at Chelsea , the crowd are simmering already and I suspect it will push many over the edge.

The only saving grace him is the early kick off which will prevent people being too drunk.
