Yeah because teams like Brighton and Brentford have highly skilled players, don’t they?
How often to teams set up to low block Brentford (and to a lesser extent Brighton)? They aren't treated the same as big clubs by opponents.

If breaking down a low block is Slot's main issue I think that's a win. He's by far my preferred choice (assuming no JN) and I hope we can close the deal with him.

So we don't want a manager who plays a low block. We want someone who plays attacking football. However we don't want someone who comes up against a low block because of our attacking football?

Well handled. I think things like how he handles the press are a good indication of his man management skills, and to me, that is as big a component to managing a big club as tactics.

We could do a lot worse than to have him here - and given our history, we probably will.
Yea compare his handling of the media and vibe to say Nuno or Conte... night and day.

You’re misunderstanding my point. There’s brighter coaches out there who have better ways to cut through low blocks. Roberto De Zerbi is one example. Currently, the criteria and justification is that Slot “speaks well”. Its insane. Not even saying he’s a bad manager or something, but the people completely sold him based on this need their heads checked.

We just want to play attacking football and for teams to not know we play attacking football so they don't set up a low block and then let us win. Much like what Klopp gets upset about when teams don't just open up and attack Liverpool.

Breaking down low blocks is the least of our worries. No one does that against us anymore, as our defence is made of paper mache.

Hardly any teams play low blocks in the prem now anyway. I can only think of Everton, Bournemouth, and at a push Brentford. They all press as well as sit in at times anyway so not exactly bus parkers.

They don't need their heads checked. I know I don't speak for everyone, but it certainly feels like there's a massive disconnect between all constituent parts of the club: board, DOF, manager, players, fans.

That's a personality trait that we've been missing - and people are allowed to judge characters based on how they come across in television interviews. He gives me a feeling that he could be that sort of guy that knits it all together; who talks warmly about a football club, about his life etc. More than anything this appointment needs to fuse everything together so I actually think personality type is huge in this.

Yes, that’s a valid point. But I guarantee hardly any of you are watching Feyenoord, so people are dismissing my concerns based on him being a warm personality. Its ONE element of the job. If you want someone with just warm vibes then we might as well just bring back Harry Redknapp. The play style has to be on point too.

Fulham revert to one based on the opponent. A lot teams are more hybrids but they revert to lower blocks against more attacking sides.
